zzzp header/dp

I install my zzp header and downpipe combo last week and just threw the code last night (CEL). A few questions. Doesthis effect my preformance? should i talk it to chev to check the code and can they fix it or should i go somewhere else to do it. I dont want to tune my car, I only want to get rid of the CEL

To get rid of the CEL you will probably need to tune the car by someone with HP Tuners.

It will not effect your performance though with it on.

Did you get a high flow cat or no cat?

Even with high flow cat you'll get the cel from time to time. Best bet is to get a tuner to clear it out or get the ark cel eliminator.

Gm will only be able to clear the code and by going to them with this problem you run the risk of them voiding your warranty. You have a few options

1.) Everytime the CEL comes up, unplug your car battery for 5 minutes replug and start the car and let it idle for 3 minutes then drive. (You will be doing this often)

2.) Get a tuner to turn the code off in your pcm (this is the best and permantent fix)

3.) Get the Ark Cel Eliminator (mixed results I've never used it)

Mine came on the day after, went away the next and hasn't come back.

Guess my prayers were answered.

With a high flow cat under certain conditions it may pop up.
HP Tuners like my self can remove the code and leave your tune alone. If you lived closer and if your an 06 SS S/C I'd be able to do it for say 10 bucks.

But thats because I have all 06 SS S/C's unlocked. Other wise its a 100 buck to unlock your car to be tuned. So again if your going to pay why not go ahead and get tuned?

Let me explain in my case I have all 06 Cobalt SS S/C's unlocked. So I can tune an 06 Cobalt SS S/C with out spending credits.

As for the problem the OP has stated I was not implying that it's limied to only 06 Balts as any of the 3 year (05,06,07) will have this problem. I was just saying if he was an 06 I could take the cel off permanteley for 10 bucks.

You ever get your car fixed Sean?
