Trans Fluid Change
Raise up the car and remove the trans pan, Use an 8mm socket. I start with the bolts to the front and work my way to the back to drain the fluid into a pan and cause mininal mess. Also when you are removing the few final bolts I don't let the pan hang down becasue it may cause the pan bolt holes to become bent/distorted. Now you will see the filter, remove the filter and get a small flat head screwdriver and remove the retainer seal in which the filter tube goes into in the trans. Most people leave it in but hey since you're not in a hurry install the new seal which comes with the filter kit. Install the new filter. #24221762
The gasket is reusable, I clean the gasket with brake cleens. Make sure to clean the pan and clean the magnet as well. Clean the trans surface as well where the pan bolts up to. Now that you have everything clean, put the gasket onto the pan and re install the pan and gasket onto the transmission. Each person has their way of doing it but I install the bolts loosely and then torque them down after working from the middle outward. Torque them down to 10 foot lbs.
The transmission fluid cap is located on the passenger side, it is made from plastic and you unscrew it. Use a long thin funnel and pour 7 litres of trans fluid and reinstall the cap. Make sure the car is nice and level, start the car, and let it warm up, you may want to just shift through each gear (don't rev car) and put it back into park. On the passenger side of the transmission below where the axle shaft goes into is a small check plug. It is the only one there so you won't mistake it. Remove it using an 11mm socket or wrench and the fluid will come out, when it starts to dribble then you know you have the right fluid level and you can now put the check plug back in. Drop the car, clean up your mess and take it for a test drive.
