Is warm water a must?

I don't have warm water outside at home (doubt most people do!) so do I need the warm water to wash my car, or is the cold hose ok?

It's best to wash any car with cold water -- and out of the sun!

hey, when its cold warm water would be nice. But it wouldnt make a difference in washing a car. Just a difference in temperature... not like its going to mess up the clearcoat or anything. of course you know they always say too use warm water when cleaning your dishes but never heard of it on a car... unless there is someone that rides around with you that you dont want to get sick from your germy car.. lol

Haha, wow. Cold water is just fine. It's -30ºc here, the car survives in that cold, so I think it will survive a little cold water. We wash our vehicles with 250ºf water at work, but that's because we've got a Hotsy and it melts ice in about... .3 seconds.

Well the flux capacitor opperates at optimum of 1.21 jigawatts at about 92.2*F. Just try to get as close to that as possible. Shouldn't be much of a problem if you are off by a bit.

Well the thermostat on the Hotsy is set at 250. There is a bit of steam that does come out with the water, though. And don't forget the water is under some pressure too.

water under pressure can be superheated above 212

you can actually throw boiling water into the air and it will freeze before it hits the ground at these temps. skin freezes in under 5 minutes.

We condition to these temps in the winter. It's supposed to warm up a little through the week (-16ºc for friday) and it's not like these temps last. I love living up here. It's good having a cold winter because otherwise there's no incentive to get summer work done before the snow. We'd be like Mexico and procrastinate.
