Have Injen's CAI Claims Ever Been Evaluated?

Hey all,
Injen claims a 17/16 hp/tq gain (dyno proven it adds) to the wheels of a SS/SC with their CAI installed (the new "tuned" intake).

Has anyone tested this claim? I am about to put the intake on my car and I'm hoping I will notice anything at all.

Discuss!

What it is (heard from a couple people) is that those numbers are rated from the flywheel. not the wheels... k&n and such is rated at the wheels, which technically still has higher numbers at times

We have see 6-7 whp. on the dyno, but the fuel trims are off and it leans out the fuel curve.

keep this in mind, the seller of aftermarket parts will ALWAYS use the highest #'s they have ever seen. one member may have somehow gained 16 hp because the first dyno was on a shitty, crazy hot day after back to back runs, and after the install, it was done on an ideal day in perfect conditions.

dyno results are pretty much worthless in terms of accuracy, the margin of error is way too big to be able to compare what happens when you put in an intake. dyno's are good for tuning, or for getting an ESTIMATE of power. that's about it.

don't expect much except a louder whine. if you go in expecting too much, you're going to be disapointed.

it takes one hell of a butt dyno to be able to tell the difference between 218whp and 222 whp. i think the "difference" that most people feel with an intake is in their head because of the sound.
