Need Smart person who wont bias my question

Ive seen this question thrown around a little bit, first can i put headers on my 2008 ls with SAI, secondly how much horse would i be looking at if i had the short ram intake, dc sports exhaust,header,2.4 mani, comp cams, ferrera valves, the weisco pistons(alot of stuff on ttr )) and a trifecta tune with maybe a jet chip please dont make fun of me or flame but suggestions are appreciated. The only forced induction i would intend on using is n2o but thank you for your answers

im about 95% postive that installing a header with the SAI is'nt a problem lol. and from what i have heard, a fully bolted 2.2 (u basically are) along with a tune, should be good for the 170 whp range. dont quote me on it cuz im not positve, im just throwing out a somewhat educated answer.

DO NOT use jet chip, there aweful. Also I believe you can use any manifold (Not Header) as long as you have the trifecta tunning because i believe they can delete the SIR in your ECU. 150-170whp..really depends on dyno, tune and other factors.

Also FYI N2O is NOT forced induction. Forced induction is a supercharger or turbo...

wow i missed that part about the jet chip, just stay away from it. it doesnt help our cars at all, and im some cases, i have heard that it actually hurts it. just stick with the bolts on and a the few internal mods you have done along with the tune and ur golden. if u decide u wanna add a little juice, go for it, just make sure u get the car retuned from trifecta after you add it.

you will not break into the 14's without juice. sorry man, it just isn't going to happen. now with a 75 shot, you might.

With everything he listed, especially with the cams, it's possible.

There's some guy on here that runs a 15 without cams.

Agreed, there are people that could do it without nitrous, super or turbo. No one has the driver mod or track to do it.

i know they're capable, but even with cams, if it's a stock head, you won't gain the kind of power needed to drop a second off the 1/4 time.

He doesn't need to drop a second, he needs to drop like maybe .1-.2 seconds on a good track.

Nobody has done it before, but I might just have to make it my goal for the future.

Yes, you can install the header, but you will need to get a reflash of your ECM to delete the software of the SAI system. Read the Sticky thread in this section to learn about it.

Valves will do nothing for power. They just allow your engine to handle more power at higher RPM.

Pistons will do nothing for power unless you are changing the compression ratio.

Stay away from anything that has the word "chip" in it. Garbage.

The rest of that stuff is fine.

i wasn't saying he couldn't make it into the 14's, and i agreed, a 75 shot with full bolts-ons could. i'm not trying to start a feud on 2.2 vs. 2.0, just sharing my experience.

also, switching from a SRI, to a CAI, would be a good start if you're planning on running nitrous. the colder that air is, the better.

I want to throw on an exhaust and a 75 shot so bad. If I thought I could be in the 13's it would be tempting.

But I can't justify spending a grand in a full exhaust system when I'm just going to buy a 3" when I get my turbo. Maybe I'll go ahead and get the 3" now and just hobble until I go turbo, .
