Anyone else having problems with there hood paint chipping when being hit by dust?

I rarely drive my car in situations where I am behind someone at over 40mph. But I took her out for a spin last night since it was nice. I just drove carefree and had fun.

I get home and pull it in the garage under the lights and wow I have a nice rock chip in my hood again!

The paint is so damn thin I don't know how I cannot see through it, anyone else?

Warranty Time?

From what I hear the painting process at the plant sucks big time. All in the process of getting a MASS produced car. Primer and paint coats are not fully dry after being applied and that is why the paint chips so easily.

Front Hood line couple of flaks off of it and roof line right at the front near the glass. Looks like the edges of things are flaking. Almost as if a small bubble of paint was there and just blew off.

edit: this is even after I applied 4 coats of Klasse.

Unfortunetly price of the vehicle (under $40,000 cnd) is not relevant as the process is the same for all GM cars.

Mine has a few small chips in the paint. Im gonna take it to the dealer to try to get them to fix it and fix the rattles in my interior. Has anyone had any luck getting a dealer to repaint?

I guess I got lucky cuz my ss/sc is perfect (so far). It had less flaws when I picked it up then my dad's Vette. It's sad but true. My dad got a few minor flaws fixed and the dealer paid for it. I was amazed. But then again, it is a vette. :twothumbs
