Just as stated just installed cams, need a Crankshaft [ Case ] relearn done. Dealer is trying to rape me. anyone in nj have a tech 2 and can help me out?

Car should start even without the CASE learn done. If you cannot get the car to start but it cranks over then the problem is more likely a slightly off cam sensor so you would have to adjust the cams again.

 

No car starts fine, just throwing the crankshaft position code P0117 i believe. Sometimes that car takes a few turns of the key to crank over. Did a search of some threads and saw that the case relearn fixes it, if not then i know im off a tooth or two.

 

The case learn can be difficult to "take" if the cam teeth are off, but it should work in the first couple tries if they are fine. You will know because the light will go away, and if you fail the Scanner will tell you you failed.

 

thats what im lookign for cause i dont want to take time and take the head off to find im fine. If i fail the relearn than it would narrow the problem down.

Also can a aeroforce interceptor do a relearn?

Talk to him, actually went for a tune to him the other day and he said he cant do it cuz off the code that he thinks im off on the gears, he thought it was the timing on the gears mayb cam missaligned just wanna do a relearn first just in case before i take the head off dont wanna take it off for nothing
