Major Door troubles!!!

Listen I need help. I know its long but I could really use the advice/help

2005 ss/sc
extended warranty ($100DD)
we=me and my dad...this is definately a father son car thing

okay so about a month ago I came home late at night. I stop the car before i pull into the garage and I go to get out. I pull the handle and push on the door and nothing happens. I unlock the door(thinking it was locked) and pull again. The door would not open. I crawl out the passanger side door and try it from the outside and it wouldn't open. It was late and I pulled into the garage and went to bed. The next day I told my dad about it.....to make a long story short we took it to the nearest dealer and got it fixed. They charged us $90 and we (me and my dad) were told the cable fell off and it was put back on and lubed.

so now the other day the door freaking locked up again. we took it to the same dealer and they told us they need to order a part. we said okay and came and picked up the car and took it home. I go to get in and the door won't open. apparantely they didn't/couldn't fix the door and they absolutely needed the part( this was assumed because the door was not fixed) imo shouldn't they have atleast tried to do what they did last time and fix the door so it would at least open?

so I came home frustrated and I started searching the site for answers... one question I have is can't they give me a rental? they are going to keep me in a dd with a driver door that doesn't open. it sucks so bad. plus i just read some stories where people had warranty claims and get treated like kings. I just feel like a piece of crap.. I just feel like they should treat me better.

FYI: this is not the first time this place had screwed me. took the car to get the oil changed there once. some confusion was started when i noticed the invoice was charged with the wrong amount of oil that the car takes.( one quart to low) I noticed this after I got home and called back. and to this day we/they never knew what happened( we ended up changing the oil 3000 miles later when it was synthetic oil, something we didn't want to do. just so we knew the correct amount was in there)

then as I continue to search the site i see the problems with people having the paint underneath the doors rubbing off. I go outside to look and my passanger side is rubbing pretty bad( couldn't look at the driver side, it won't open)
I have so many questions concerning the paint. It just feels like a pain to go back and deal with this dealer again. I know I could go somewhere else but I just feel like thy owe me some freaking gratitude!! Idk if the paint is covered under warranty or its own warranty? how long is it under warranty? will they actually do the entire job if its under warranty for free.( the only mods I have are tint and thats it)

My last question is I hear stuff about a regional gm service rep. like these are the people who will get stuff done for you when your dealer is being stupid. who are these people? or do I sound like a crazy ***** who loves his car to much and these people don't exist.

I have an 05 and had the same problem. The door latch had to be replaced on the driver side. It was still under warranty so they covered it. As far as the paint on the bottom side of the door. I have it on both of my doors and I just deal with it. I had a paint problem under my hood for my car and the dealer was dumbfounded so I just left it and used touch up paint.

I would try a different dealer just to see if they will treat you the same way.

yes to my knowledge. bumper to bumper extended warranty. expires 3/24/12 or 55,000 miles. 31,200 on car now

I read about a guy who had the paint problem who had it fixed by the dealer. then i guess to protect it from being rubbed off again they put 3m clear protection on it.
??? any responses to this

On my 2005 coupe, the paint was not only coming off the inside of the doors, but the bottoms of the doors, the rocker panel, the leading edge of the quarter panel, the spoiler and the hood... GM told me that it was my fault because I had put aftermarket wheels (same size, 15") and one size larger a tire on my car.
A couple of months later, I got rid of the car and bought a 2007 SS/SC that has the paint coming off the inside of the doors and the leading edge of the quarter panel.

yeah
now someone else knows how retarded i felt being locked inside my own car.. ha
not cool.. at all..
especially having to crawl out of the passenger side in a high school parking lot of 400+- cars with other kids looking at me like "wtf?!" haha
my own dad thought i was crazy for calling him and telling him my car locked me inside.

Come to think of it, the door handle on my 2005 coupe was getting sticky and my brother (who is a tech at a Chevy dealership) sprayed some stuff in the handle and latch. Never had a problem after that.
