What happened to yours? Accident? Bent?

You won't find them at stores; order one from the dealer if you have the ability to install it yourself.

they still should have fixed it, warrenty or not, they can't sell you a car with a f'ed up control arm, thats dangerous, not to mention probably illegal. They have to replace it, or, you did something, and this is just a poor excuse.

the point were trying to get at is this.

in order to mess up ur control arm u need to do something pretty major. they dont bend, brake, or other wise get messed from normal driving over pot holes and stuff.

the fact that you didnt know about it makes me think that you prob got your car from a shady dealer.

or ur mechanic is trying to screw u, i would also go get it checked my another place to make sure.

What was the original concern? A clunk/noise, and what made you think it was a shock absorber?

I had the clunking noise and they thought it was the control arm bushing but it turned out to be the sway bar link(the stand offs for the sway bar to control arm connection)
It was clunking over bumps and I thought it was the shocks originally myself .
I would check those before going with the control arm bushings ,It would be alot less work and a cheaper fix as well.

Maybe your lug nuts are not tight enough. Does it only make noise a certain revolutions of the tire. Probably lug nuts if you took off your own wheels and hand tightened the nuts back on instead of using an impact drill, even if you cranked them over pretty tight. That will cause a thumping. A broken control arm would be pretty obvious once you get in there and look, does it have a hair line crack or something, otherwise it would snap right. I don't really know. Maybe you just need new control arm bushings. They go bad often.
