growling noise and loss of power

so when i floor it in third fourth or fifth there is a rough growling noise and loss of power for maybe five or six seconds then it is normal...its been like this since i got it at the beginning of the year....idk what it is but it drives fine and shifts fine. its an 06 5spd...im just confused cause the mechanic at the dealership drove it and he said everything was fine so any info would be great... thanks

it's called bogging. Don't floor it in fifth unless you just shifted out of fourth at 6300rpms.

Lol well assuming he knows how to properly drive a manual, he should know what bogging is and rule that out. But who knows, maybe that IS what he's experiencing.

I see.
yeah ive ive driven a manual for over two years now and it didnt do this with my other car but it was a pos, and all my friends say i drive a manual better than anyone they know

and im not familiar with the term bogging but im guessing its shifting before you should as in the rpms are too low? cause i dont think thats it

well, you may be able to drive a manual well, but our 2.0 is gutless without that SC, and in low RPMs, in a high gear, there is a lot of load, so it will "growl" and because it take a while for the RPM's to rise, because it's working harder, it will feel like there is no power. I guarantee if you drop it into fourth, or if you are going 90mph or less, drop it into third, and it will be a very different animal.

*disclaimer - i know 3rd tops at 100 with the stock redline, and please rev match that 5-3 shift.

it's not like a turbo where the more load on the engine, the more boost you make, the SC spins in relative motion to the crank, low rpms=low power. A high gear makes it harder for the motor to spin faster.

does any of this make sense. And because you don't understand bogging, that sounds like what it is.

i'm not trying to be rude, just trying to help inform you. I could always be wrong, but because you are stock, and none of the other gears have issues, plus no codes right? sounds like bogging.

No kidding! I get people with the Turbo cars telling me that all the time.

"When I floor it in 5th to pass someone I think I get knock."
