Hey guys. I'm having a major issue with my irl. The car will perform fine for the first 5 minutes and then the low power light will come on and the car becomes super sluggish. If i turn the car off the car will return to being fine then 5 minutes down the road it starts all over again. I had some bad gas awhile ago and thought my problems were over but i don't know whats wrong. Fuel filter clogged because of the bad gas? Anyone have any idea's? I'm going to tow it to the dealer on Tuesday if i can't figure it out. Thanks

check EVERYTHING in the engine bay, make sure intake is not clogged with something, replace fue filter, check spark plugs, what CEL comes on?

 

I'd also do a compression test.

 

check fuel pressure

 

Would like to add the car is completely stock. Going to change the fuel filter and plugs tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply's

If it's an 04, it's not other warranty, right? You might have more luck with a local mechanic you trust.

Maybe battery/alternator/coil packs/plugs..?

I'd def change any filter you haven't changed since the bad gas incident, especially fuel filter.

Might also try just unhooking your battery, draining the power, and rehooking everything. Sometimes that fixes weird ****.

Ha, yeah. I totally read over that the first time.

 

if the engine power reduced light is comming on its gonna have a code for something. take it to a shop (or autozone) and have then scan it, find out what code it has and go from there.

 

Thanks for all the replys guys. I'm having it towed to the dealership tomorrow to see what is up. Thinking about just fixing it and trading it. I need something with a warranty
