If you are still leaking near your cam sensor and have done the RTV repair it is almost certainly not the cam sensor leaking. When I installed my Clearimage chargepiping I removed the support bracket that used to hold the stock hotpipe on and the fiberglass cover for the highpressue fuel pump and I discovered that the oil is leaking, probably has been the whole time, out of where the high pressure fuel pump bolts to the head. I believe the surfaces are not flat against one another because it has a thin flat gasket similar to a collector flange gasket. I tried snugging the bolts down first as they were pretty loose hopefully that works. If not, I will take it off and Use Black RTV on it.

I have no oil related issues on my car.

Just thought I would throw that out there since the only people who tend to post are those with issues...then people think ALL SS/TC's have the issue...

A lot of LNFs seem to be leaking in that area just thought I would share what I found. The oil is leaking and speeping down onto the cam sensor making it appear as it is leaking and because of the cover over the pump it is a difficult leak to find.

Those of you who are still leaking after attempting the fix need to read this info. It might be your leak source too.

Another point to check would be the end cap of the camshaft, I haven't checked on mine, but it is in the same region.

Mine is dry right there but I was still getting oil under my high pressure fuel pump that is above where the cam sensor is so I thought to myself. Oil cannot flow uphill against gravity so I removed the 3 10mm bolts holding the black steel bracket for the stock hotpipe off and I found the source of the the leak. Hope this helps anyone who is still having issues.

The only true way to see where it is coming from is to install oil dye, until then oil can get anywhere it is all speculation until you know for sure, i know it is the sensor cause oil doesn't seep magicly into the connector from the outside if the inside is wet too.........

No speculation here. I can see where it is leaking now that I have everything cleaned up and the pump cover off. Oil does not flow uphill out of a leak that is for sure. Because the cam sensor is directly below the location of this leak the oil eventually gets all over the sensor also. I may have had a leak at the sensor before as well but I am not sure now if is was not this leak causing all the oil under there or not. The oil is seeping into the connector from the outside of the connector not the inside. The sensor itself is sealed so no oil gets into it at all.

It is definately coming from the flange where the fuel pump bolts to the head. I might have been leaking at the cam sensor but not anymore. I fixed that With a generous smear of black RTV. I will probably do the same to the gasket at the fuel pump. It seems as if the two surfaces do not mate up completely flat so there is a small gap between the gasket and the two metal surfaces. It leaks but very slowly.

I will post pics when I get home. The leak is so so slow that I may have to drive it for a few hundred more miles before it is noticeable again. I cleaned it very thoroughly so there is really no need for oil dye. There is only one place it can be coming from in this case I have look all around and under and on top of this leak and I have found it is coming from that flange trust me on that. Check your car. Take the metal cover off and the cloth cover mine was wet under there. I am used to looking for leaks of a different kind and this was easy to find once the cover is taken off.

this is a repost, we had a thread for this goin a few weeks back, almost a month back now i think, a few ppl have had problems and warranty work was required. I checked mine, same thing, it's leaking a bit too, not sure how bad but it's under warranty so they have to fix it if anything fails. I will probably get them to put the dye in mine too and check it out.

found the thread.............on the same page...........

Not a repost because it is coming from a different spot on mine and possibly some others cars on here. I know all about that other thread infact I posted in it about 10 times.

Not the same problem. It is an oil leak at the flange where the high pressure fuel pump bolts to the head. It is not the cam sensor.

That is good to hear. I need to fix mine. I aready did the RTV thing on the cam sensor and it is not leaking there anymore, and could not understand why it was still wet under there. Until I took of the pump cover and found the source of the leaking.

I replaced a stuck open thermostat last weekend on the black balt and removed the cam sensor for easier access to the thermostat housing. It did have black rtv in each of the center lobes away from the bolt holes. I did not replace the gasket nor reapply rtv before reinstalling the cam sensor. It does not leak what-so-ever nor do either of my balts have oil leaks.
