Has anyone installed their own GM Stage 2 kit? Need advise

I've got a GM stage 2 that I have been wanting to get put on, but the ******* dealership does not want to install it becuase they do not want to be liable if they mess the blower shaft up. Idiots The local Chevy dealers in this area have not installed the Stage 2 kit, but said they may be able to do it for me. I'm not going to be the first time guinea pig for them. So I an just going to say F all them and install it myself and let a Chevy dealer put my calibration on when it is done.

Anyways the stage 2 kit seems like a simple install except for when it comes to taking off the old pulley on and putting the hub back on. I am sure that I will need a pulley puller to remove the stock one, but what will I need to put the stage 2 hub on? Who sells the tools that will work right without the risk of screwing anything up? Any tips for installing everything?

www.zzperformance.com sells pulley pullers..

It's worth doing it yourself.. Gives you more confidence in that you know what was done and how it was done to your car.

Plus.. You save a couple hundred bucks..

whats the point in getting the gm stage 2 if you arent going to keep the warrenty to it? you doing it yourself voids the warrenty if anything goes wrong and its caused by it. Should have just went out and bought a pulley/injectors/harness and find someone to tune you. And speaking of tune if you install gm stage 2 you still need a tune

Im a dealership tech and installed my sc pully with a power steering pully installer tool. It can also be done with a simple bolt, washer, and nut to drive the pully on as the shaft is threaded, dont recall the thread size.

GMPP stage 2 kit will not affect factory warrenty.

False. I had my dealership contact the GM Headquarters and give me a case # to prove that I could do it myself while maintaining it under warranty.

That's another good reason. I'd rather do it mysef than have some dealer grunt half assing it.

I remeber Intense also sells puller, but I have seen where a lot have people said that one of the pullers was not very good for the M62s. I don't remeber if it was the one ZZP or Intense sold

How am I losing the warranty by doing it myself? I know that I needs to have the calibration, I plan on taking it in to a Chevy dealer to let them do just that only

I already have the Stage 2 kit sitting in the box still waiting to be put on, I am not going out and buying another kit. Stage 2 is all I plan on doing anyways for performance. Either way I will still have to remove the stock pulley, and I'd rather spend a half hour at the dealer to get a reflash than have to wait around for OTTP to recalibrate the pcm and send it back. Not happening

They told you wrong. The compenets of the kit are only good for 12 months 12K miles if you do it yourself, 36 months or 36K if you let a dealer do it.

If anyone else has advice on installing this kit, or what they best puller kit to use is, let me know. Has anyone used the GM Kent Moore tools that are listed by part number in the stage 2 instructions? If those are any better I may just buy them to do the install.
