What Dealer Extras Did you get with you SS?

They offered me 4 things, which i picked up 3.

*Rims and Tires 5 year warranty. If the rim ever gets cracked or the tire gets a hole or sliced to anything its completely covered.

*Exterior and Interior Coverage. My daughter could spill red cherry juice in my car on my seats and they would get the stains out for free, if they couldnt get the stain out then i get brand new seats.

*Lojack alarm system. This is basically just a GPS system on your car, it has a 24 hour garuntee that if you car is stolen it will be recoved in under 24 hours.

* Free oil changes for 5 years.. I didnt get this because it was 300$ and i can do my own changes or pay 15 bucks at autozone or something.

What did you get?

Well I can do it for under 40 by myself . . . (27 for the oil and dunno the filter price, but under 10 I'm sure) But seriously, even at that price I'll easily break $300 over the next 5 years. You passed on a steal there man.

Edit: I never pay attention to the left side of my screen, but still, USD 40 is much cheaper than CAN 80.

oil changes arent every day, i rather shell out the 30-40$ every 3 months then pay 300 all at once.

They couldn't work it into your financing? If not I could understand it then.

They probably would have charged you extra for synthetic oil changes on top of that 300. I get the 1st oil change for free but on the coupon it says synthetic was an extra charge. And, who's to say he will keep car for 5 years anyway.

True, you got a point there. If it doesn't cover the cost of synthetic, it's a waste. I plan on keeping my car at least 5 years, but you got me on that one too. Eh, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, right?

You can easily do an oil change for $50 bucks yourself in Canada. Mobil 1 syn (same as in LSJ) is like $8.50/Litre and a filter isn't much. I have seen it for like $8.00 at Superstore. Our engine only takes 5 Litres or thereabouts.

Dealers charge a premium for Mobil 1 because few people buy it (mostly Vettes until a few years ago). Buy your own and bring it to the oil change at least. They you just pay labour and filter.

For 5 years that totals $800....

I would have gotten it. I hate paying for Mobil 1.... I also hate changing my oil because of the damned filter location!

Lifetime oil changes, for no extra charge.

I don't know where you guys are getting your cars, but I'd check out all the dealers in the area.
