i know some of you already know of me from my other threads. yes im the guy with the first blow turbo and then 3 months after i got it back on the road i blew up third gear. well tomarrow i have someone coming to buy my 67 coupe deville from me so this is basically saying keep your fingers crossed for me that he buys it so i can buy my new trans. thanks alot guys for all of your support

So I definitely missed something here.. You blew the tranny and your warranty won't cover it?

 

He is tuned and he is doing the right thing by not crying warranty.

 

no no I understand that part, but did he put in a warrenty claim and get rejected or he just said screw it and didn't even try?

yes exactlt....im the one who blew it up. its not gm's fault i drive like a maniac hahahaha so HOPEFULLY it will be back on the road and having fun in the near future. hey terminator i might have to catch up with you when i go back hom for vacation maybee get a little custom tuning done haha im from central fl too just live in va now

i didnt even try with having the tune plus the stg 4 clutch and aluminum flywheel i knew wouldnt do it so i said screw it oh well to bad i never learn my lesson from these things haha

 

ok, I gotcha now.. What is a new tranny gonna cost you? I wonder what can be done to possibly beef up the stock tranny to handle the abuse you put the poor thing through.. lol..

 

hahaha i dont think anything can be done to any tranny to handle my abuse hahaha. im gonna be getting the one im taking out of the car and maybee try cryo treating to to see if that does anything. someone needs to come out with a stronger tranny now

 

what about the quaife 6 speed conversion?

 

how much does that thing run? and whats the gearing like?

 

Yeah I remember seeing that badboy somewhere a while back but when I tried looking into it again it seems to have vanished somehow.. Do you have a link for it by any chance?

For the price they should send you a whole drop in 6sp transmission . If we were a cool site that cared everyone could donate a dollar to a project like this.

 

i agree that price is very steep for just gears

 

true.. but if i ever blow my tranny and the case is good, i do believe i'll be looking into the 6 speed conversion, so long as it's able to handle the power.

 

yeah the power thing is what im concerned with. im gonna look into doing it with the trans im pulling out of the car
