my dealer has no idea

Well the reason why my car has been bucking is because im not driving it in competitve mode. SAYS THE DEALER and a GM tech they were on the phone with

I have a stock 09 SS/TC with 7800 miles on it. About a month ago my car started to jerk and back fire under full acceleration and the check engine light comes on with reduced power message. I took it to Walker Brother Chevorlet in Edinboro, PA and they told me that it was the fuel pump which makes sence since it seemed like the engine wasn't getting the rite amount fuel. I get it back and it's doing the same DAMN thing jerking and it back fires under full acceleration and check engine like comes on with reduced power message. I take it back to the dealer this time they say it's the fuel pressure sensor they replace it after having it for another week. I just got it back today and it's still doing the SAME DAMN THING. So I take it back to the dumb asses and take the head technicain for a ride while I'm showing him what is going on I tell him about how some of you guys said that it could be bad or dirty injectors. He said that he will check to see if there are any bulletins about it. We get back he goes inside to check the bulletins while I stay outside to smoke a cig, he comes out about five minutes later and tells me that they put fuel injector cleaner in the tank and if it is the injectors that it could be a few days till it runs threw the system and that there is really nothing that they can do rite now because this time there is no codes. He said just to drive it and if its still doing it in a few days bring it back and they will try to figure out whats wrong.

Pretty sad, when a technition cannot troubleshoot a problem simply because a code is not being thrown. Whatever happened to good old, understanding how the system works and what works with what and how. If you know that, you can troubleshoot anything without a fault code.

Furthermore its sad that all they want to do is throw parts at it.
Im sure a simple fuel pressure test at the fuel rail would have
helped out on the troubleshooting. Bet they didn't do it. Bet they
didn't check your vaccum system for leaks either, might want to
try that. Also check your plugs for being dirty and gapped. I bet they
didnt even pull them out. Incorrectly worn/gapped spark plugs can
lead to spark blow out, where at higher accelerations the pressure of the
air gets to be so much that the plug cannot spark it. But once the engine dies out abit, the air is less and spark can return.

... but... if that were happening, the computer PCM SHOULD trip a P0300 Random/Multiply cylinder misfire. Id say check the fuel rail pressure, vaccume system and plugs just for good measure.

I found your problem. You smoke too much!

Pretty much everything you said WAS true in 1955. With the computer run systems that control EVERY function on the cars of today it's not so easy. Case in point. If YOU were troubleshooting a cruise control system that wasn't working what is the first thing you would check without the benefit of a diagnostic code? RIIIIIGHT The fuse. And if it wasn't blown? HMMMMM! Try the high mount brake light in the rear for blown bulbs. Believe it or not the bulbs in that lamp can put the kabosch on the cruise. The computer will not enable the cruise without the proper resistance, 6 ohms, across that lamp. You MUST touch the brakes hard enough to light the brake lights before it will work. Don't believe me? Try it. Or read the owners manual as it deals with the cruise function. Or BOTH.

See what I mean?
