have an 09 sstc sedan got a rattle going on somewhere in steering column when going over uneven pavement or small bumps, sounds like somewhere in the steering wheel or the column, sound familiar???

 

not really, but i do have a small rattle that sounds like its coming out of the radio or the IP

 

Familiar problem for all cobalts. I had my steering column replaced under warranty.

 

ya i'v been getting that sound recently too. it's really starting to bug me; sounds like vibrating piece of metal right (like a small spring or something)? so then it's something in the steering wheel?

 

yes. i have the same exact thing. i can hear it the most when i pull slowly out of my driveway and i go over the 1/2" curb drop. it is so damn annoying.

but take into consideration my car is almost 4 years old. lol

take the car to the dealer and bring up NHTSA#'s 10023214 & 10017497 & 10020589

those are all the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration numbers for recalls/ defects dealing with the steering columns in cobalts. lol

i dont know how much good it will do you but its worth a shot.
