right now as i sit i have 42's, 2,9 pulley, GM stage 3 pcm, fujita cai, gmpp catback. getting header and dp soon.

and i was wondering how much gain i can get when i get a dual pass w/ option b, and an ottp heat exchanger ?

You wont really get any power gains from Dual Pass and a h/e since they're just cooling mods. However, they will drop your IAT2's a lot which will open up a lot more room for future performance mods. Meth will get you some decent gains because it allows you to advance timing a lot more, gives you more room to tune with, thus helping you make more power.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to do all 3 of them.

Just remember that there's no such thing as too many cooling mods

The other thing is what are you future plans with the car mod-wise?

^^what he said

if you wanna see any real gains, swap to 60's and get a tune that's NOT a GM canned tune.

^^X2. OP, I have similar mods to you and I'm still on the GM Stage 2 tune and it kinda sucks. It's good enough to get by, but with a custom tune I'd definitely see some gains from just that alone.

Just remember DO NOT get a canned tune. Some people like them, but IMO I think they suck. You're better off getting a custom tune from someone, you'll get more power and better results that way. It's like this....

street tune > dyno tune > canned tune

ya my future mods i had planned were..

2.8 or smaller
60's
header and dp
wideband
h/e, dual pass
mgs custom tune

or i was thinking of going the way of the tvs.
but all i know about getting the tvs is that i need to get a **** load of other stuff to support the tvs

umm....no you don't. The TVS is a direct bolt on replacement. The only thing you'd need to get for it is injectors because the TVS puts out a higher CFM than the M62. To run a TVS, you only need the right size injectors....the rest of the stuff you have listed is all you need to run it

With those mods you'll be fine with just a h/e and/or dual pass. Like I said before, meth is good if you wanna advance your timing and wanna get more power too.

As for the TVS, contrary to popular belief, the only base supporting mods you need for it to start are injectors and a tune. Intake and exhaust are also good starting points You wont be making crazy power or anything with just that, but probably like 280-ish whp. But for the $1,800 the TVS is going to cost you, you're better off just installing the things you listed above and you'll get about the same power as a TVS on minimal mods.

Here's an example of a canned tune vs. a custom tune....My car is totally stock besides exhaust and intake and I had someone from this site tune me and now I keep up with my buddy's GM stg2 cobalt. It drives him nuts cuz he can't pull away from me like before lol So, custom tune is the way to go esp. if you're going to do mods

lol I'd be pissed. Ironically a buddy of mine just got custom tuned and bigger injectors. Those 2 and a h/e are the only things he has on me and we did a pull and we were dead even, I might've pulled by a hair. He was pissed haha. Factory freaks ftw!!!

stage 3 PCM cannot be tuned, so meth may be a no go. I would recommend doing the 50 dry shot and the high octane mode

pick up a second PCM from one of the vendors then lol Keep the stg 3 PCM for warranty issues if there's even warranty left on the car

well lets see, where do I start?

Hmmmm

because you can float the valves by adjusting the redline to 8k rpms, you can blow the pistons/sleeves/rings with the 50 shot, and o yea u can heat soak the **** out of the car with the smaller pulley + 100 octane tune.

I wonder why....

I still say not fair lol All makes sense tho, I just don't remember seeing a disclaimer when I was lookin through the catalog about the stg 3 voiding the warranty. Oh well tho, I wouldn't go the stg 3 route myself anyways

i have just been doing it the cheapest way possible til i pay my car off then i wil start with heavier performance mods which cost more

i still have my stock pcm that a tuner flashed teh stage 2 tune on, so i can always use that when getting custom tuned.

also just a little rant totally off topic, i ran into a 300c hemi with intake, exhaust and computer work done to it and we did a pull and i pulled him not that far ahead and at the time i had what i have now minus the stage 3 pcm.

and everyone i told this said well ya no **** u will win cause that car is heavy as ****, but my buddy who was in the car with me goes to the gym where that guy goes and he was talking with him about our pull and he asked what i had done to my car because im the first sc balt to pull him every other one he races he says he beats them, and i was talking with another 300c owner and his is stock and he said at the track he beat alot of sc balts so i was wondering why people always say ya i shud of beat him no problem but when those cars somehow beat everyopne elses balt in my area, and im not the only stage 2 balt in my town so hmm makes me wonder. also that guy in teh 300c has buddies with srt8's that are in the ten seconds. as he claims...

to be totally honest, the OP could probably pick up quite a few mph from the heat soak he is currently experiencing.
