I was heading home from work last night around 7:30. I was in the left lane passing some cars probably doing about 70 and a Mazda Speed3 comes flying up on me doing atleast 100. Right away he starts flashing his brights and honking his horn, so I slowed down to the speed limit which is 65. He got just a big enough gap and flew around me and then got in front of me. I was coming up on my exit so I got into the middle lane from the fast lane. He shoots into the middle lane and slams on his brakes. I slammed mine and jerked to the right slightly to avoid rear ending him and so he decided to go to the right in front of me. I tried coming back to the left a little again to miss him and when I did this, the rear end came around on me. I slid out into the fast lane and then back across three lanes of traffic down through a ditch and into a light pole. The ditch bent up my exhaust tip into the bumper, bent the very bottom of the trunk where the black trim is, cracked the bumper around the wheel well, and cracked the front bumper and broke the air dam. The pole hit square in the middle of the rear rim on the drivers side and then drug across the quarter panel which is pushed in real bad now and it also smashed in the rear of the door. Now when it drives it has a pretty bad vibration and I know it isnt from flat spots since I checked the tires. As soon as I spun the mazda took off and ran and there is nothing the cops can do since I didnt get a plate. Why are people so dumb. Sorry for it being so long, just venting.

Sounds like you were ricing it up with a speed3 and lost...

 

If that happened to me, I would be searching for the *** in the Speed3 everyday until I found him.

/\ This. Sounds like he slowed down, the 3 pulled the ricer fly by, op tried to pass in the middle lane, the speed 3 threw a block and the cobalt driver went spinning...
I mean in order for him to cut the op off coming from the fast to the middle he would have had to been passing him.

Yeah he got around me and then saw me get over so he threw a block. I wouldnt have slowed down if he wasnt flashing his brights and weaving back and forth. I typically will speed up and move over for faster cars, but not when they are ignorant. He got the upperhand since he had the better brakes and I have crappy LS brakes. Contacted insurance today, getting appraised tomorrow, then I will know what I am in for. I just hope it isnt totalled because I have a kid on the way and wont get any money back out of it, so I would be screwed not once but twice in the deal.

 

If i were you, i'd post your story on every local forum you can with the description of the car and see what happens.

 

Oh wow... I would prevent this dude from having children... Not just because he wrecked you but because he could do serious harm to someone else... Atleast you can walk away from it. His next victim may not be so lucky.

 

It isnt looking too good for me, car is valued on kbb at 6500 and I estimated atleast 5500 in damages, without factoring in any frame work and suspension work.

 

keep an eye out on the speed 3 forums and on the road for him you might even be able to find him on the forums just looking around....i do the same thing to people like that slow right down and let em read between the lines ...just keep an eye out atleast its not baltimore where EVERYONE drives like that
