Okay I was talking to the Service Manager at GM today about a stage kit... They told me Stage 1 would be 700 plus labour.

I can get one for 450 roughly from the US , but they say that it voids the warranty if you get the kits from across the border because they are two different divisions, US and Can. Anyone else heard this?

Someone was also telling me that they mark your pulley belt so if I was to put on a smaller Pulley, then have something go wrong and swap the stock pulley back on it'd show up that I switched it... Kinda confused on that. Anyone Have any Ideas on either of these issues? Thanks ...

 

bullshit...i called gm canada today and told them that i was getting mine from the US and they didnt have a problem

 

Our dealers order them in from the States as it is. Canadians don't manufacture them.
The dealer is either an idiot or thinks you are.

 

yeah i put the intense stg 3 on mine, havent had a problem with warranty yet

 

I had that feeling all along, thinking they were taking me for a ride... It was funny cause the guy says they run around 800 for stage 1 plus labour but i can get you a deal 700 plus labour... then he went on and on about useless ****, then i'm like well actually will u guys just put one in if i get it for you , cause i can for 400US about 450Can, and he's like no that won't work then u won't have ur warranty....

Then to take the ride one step further he's like its 500 CAN for stage 2 and i'm like uhh i thought it was closer to 1100 , he talks to some other guy after i say this and confirms and says first u'd have to get stage 1 , then stage 2 and not vice versa and i'm like well i don't know about that... Cause i was under the impression stage 2 was stage 1 plus supercharger pulley swaps. So they don't know whats up at this shop ... I actually was the one who had to explain the stage kits to him a couple days prior to this.. **** can't anyone be straight with you anymore? .... I appreciate the input guys, i'm going to call around to some other dealerships around here and see what they are saying and also call up GM Canada as well...

 

The canadian dealerships know less about stage kits then the american ones....my dealer knew nothing about it when I asked them...then they looked it up and quoted me $1300 JUST FOR PARTS on stage2...I told them they were insane, and that there was no way in hell I was paying that much for stage2. I'll order the crap online and bring it to them to install...they said that was fine. They also thought stage2 would void my powertrain warranty at first, but changed their mind when I pointed out these are GM PARTS going on a GM VEHICLE with a GM WARRANTY....

 

some dealerships are nothing but scam artists, either talk to another service advisor, or change the dealership you go to all togethere
