One more question for you all then I'm threw. What is the smallest pulley you can use with stock injectors and one step colder plugs, is it a 2.9'', 3.0'', or a 3.15''? I would really love to use the 2.9 but I don't know.

Well I'm not sure about what size pulley you need injectors at but I believe if you go smaller than 3 you will need a way to adjust your air/fuel ratio.

Personal matter of opinion.. You're going to be running lean on 2.8 inch pulley without control over the A/F ratios (i.e. a MAF Translator or Tuning of some sort..) -- you might as well upgrade the injectors to 42.5 lbs/hr if you're dropping more than 3.0''. Honestly, I would rather run a tad rich than too lean. Matter of my opinion though.. You can get some injectors for sale as well! A few guys on here have directed me toward some, I don't know if they're still available though..

Are you just not able to afford the injectors right now, or does the Delphi strike affect your purchasing as well? (I had this problem for about 2 days... trust me.. it sucks.)

Injector sizing has less to do with adjusting your air/fuel ratio, more about being able to supply fuel to it's demand. Adjusting the a/f ratio from stock is done by your computer...they designed your cars computer to read boost (utililzing a 2.5 bar TMAP sensor) and to comphensate fuel properly during boost.

With that said, going to a smaller pulley (generating more boost) and not reflashing the computer (your controller of how much fuel you get) to supply the right amount of fuel and keep your a/f ratio level steady throughout boost & RPMs isn't a good idea.

This is why GM PURPOSELY has Stage Kits that include: Smaller Pulley, a reflash and bigger injectors. The reflash (like said) is for adjusting the your a/f ratio properly and also to work properly with bigger injectors, not just under boost but even at idle (turns the duty cycle down on your injectors so you can idle properly).

Everything works hand and hand. I've said this before in another post...if GM has specific upgrade kits for your application so you can make more power, BUY IT! This will ensure that you're doing it properly or won't encounter any problems and you're still leaving GM as the Engineer (technically).

So it's okay to run a 2.9'' pulley with the boost mod and intake and exhaust.

Ideally, yes, but make sure if you're upgrading your pulley to get the kit, not just the pulley.
