Painting Brakes

Should I:

1. Paint the calipers AND the drums

2. Paint the calipers AND NOT the drums?

i did both and it looks good, IMO. you can click my links and see the pics, they arent the best of both tires tho. If you want I can snap a couple with my camera phone and post it so you can see. mine are color matched, i thought just having the front done would look incomplete. they actually look pretty good.

I would say that if they were painted black thatd be fine, but having like red brake drums wit a red car roaming down the street? dunno about that

because when was the last time you saw a high performace brake drum? the only reason people, including myself, paint their calipers is because it looks like its an upgraded brake caliper

I guess I'm just not understanding the logic. Its not trying to fake performance...i.e. rice. I dont understand how not liking something makes it rice? My car has nothing to even put it in that class, i did it for looks, but yet...its rice?

Drums painted anything other than black or silver look BAD to me. I'd say it only becomes rice if it's painted some hideous color that doesn't match anything on the car (i.e. neon green or hot pink) and/or it's done poorly (i.e. bad spray paint job).

thats your opinion i respect that, to me and many others, that is just rice, why not just spray paint everything on the car?

I painted the drums black and the calipers yellow to go with the car. I may just paint the caliper black too b/c the lack of symmetry kinda drives me crazy

if you dont like it tho, why is it rice!? its not trying to fake performance. its for looks. my drums are color matched, which wasnt easy. like alley said, its not like i did them neon pink or something. and the job looks amazing, the work done was . with gunmetal rims, that bit of orange coming through matching the body looks sick to me. I guess its just a pet peeve if someone doesnt like something to call it rice. no disrespect.
