LOW COOLANT light came on!! should i scream lemon law and get a new cobalt or should i try for a different GM vehicle???

I am too in the process of this. If they were in series within a 3 month span you have a very good case. One water pump a month should be enough.

Is it the pump that is the problem though? Your coolant leak could be originating from something as minor as a hose that isnt clamped down tight enough. The dealership youre going to may just suck at fixing things, because coolant leaks are one of the easiest things to address in any vehicle.

first it was the pump, then it was a hose, then they didnt have a clue so they put some dye in my tank, then i came back and it was a head gasket. now i have no clue what it is since i havent taken it in yet. this has all happened within 2 1/2 months. i pay $467/month for a car that i dont even get to drive. i just get some gay rental all the time.

Well yea if you can lemon yourself into an 07 model I would go for that. Honestly I think you should try a different dealership it all is written on the same record.

Unfortuantely for us in Texas to get it replaced would require the same part failure 3 times in 3 months.

well it started in late april, possibly early may and its only july. this will be time number 5 for me.
some other options would be another '06 cobalt, '06 GTO, '06 SAAB 9-3, maybe a silverado SS or an impala SS. i definitely wouldnt want to sacrifice the power that i have been spoiled by...

Dump it, obviously the problem is not the water pump. It sounds like you might have a cracked block or radiator or perhaps a bad gasket somewhere.

If you really care at this point you should start checking the oil once a week when the car has been sitting for a while and see if you can see water in the oil. Or get under there and look for an external leak.

Saab 9-2x

WRX in Saab clothing. Can be a steal with GM discounts/rebates.

if you can get a new car without too much of a problem why not do it. i want to get a new car because mine is just bad luck but i'm too far in debt on it.

my vote is to lemon law and get another ss/sc, i think you just got one of the few lemons and that overall the ss/sc is a great car. i bet if u bring up the lemon law to them they will give you as crazy of a discount as you want for a new cobalt to try and prevent you from acutally taking them to court for it and condeming the car that they are going to buy back from you. If u trade it in to them with them knowing its on its 3rd strike i was told dealers will bend over backwards for you to keep you from actually going lemon law.
