2.2L Cobalt vs. 2.0L SS/SC
2.2L Cobalt vs. 2.0L SS/SC
ok i wasn't too sure where to put this one, but here it goes. My freind has an 05 cobalt 2.2L with a b&m short throw and a short ram intake i believe. He claims that he will hang with my 2.0 ss/sc with b&m short throw and aem cold air intake. He thinks his 2.2 will run a 15.5 which i know better than that...i have seen them run 16.0's at the best, atleast at the track i run at which goes uphill a little at the end, probalby takes 2 tenths off...i have ran a 14.8 at best at the same track...this is no way inteneded to be a flame war on 2.2, i just wanna make sure i'm not losing my mind here...he keeps avoiding me to race even at the track which is cool, but all i want to make sure is that at the track i will get him by atleast a second and a half, which in my book is no where close when it comes to drag racing. Even if we did do this on the street i would spot him 2 cars, and still pull on him by atleast 2 cars...am i right? so can anyone tell me for sure, 2.2L for 2.0 heads up, how bad would i make him look? i also have stage 2 being put in the car on monday at 8:30 which i won't tell him just to see his face when this does go down, if it does...but stock for stock let me know what you guys think...thanks
I had this ******* at the place I used to work, who drove a '94 saturn with a 124 hp engine, tell me that his car could hang with mine.
He was proved wrong very quickly, and then subsequently told me he was getting a turbo soon.

Don't waste your time. That's why I don't even bother to react when ricers try to bait me to race. I know I'm driving a 2.2 and I'm not even going to tarnish the "Cobalt" name by humoring these people. Any idiot should know that the higher end car with the better engine is called "HIGHER END" for a reason!
