i think i am running rich or lean with my 3" pulley

well i took my car to the track last night and could not beat my previous time. the best i got was a 14.46 @99. i was expecting a 13 second run but dont know what happen. i can drive and my 60 foot was a 2.2. one of my friends said it may be running rich. it feels kinda of sluggish in the low rpms and doesnt accelerate as smoothly as my stock pulley. maybe the gm stage 1 reflash can fix this or it might be because of the humidity last night. if anyone can help me that would be great.
thanks
Brian

You should be gaped at .40

Also, do you have a MAF-T or a reflash done? If not, that's what the problem is. You can't just change the pulley.
You also need bigger fuel injectors. 42lb.ers

With only a 3" pulley he should be fine for a while. I'm running a 3" pulley and stock injectors and flash. I had the same problem he did but once I changed plugs and gapped them to .040 the car cleared up. But the time has come to do it right and I'm getting bigger injectors and a reflash. he should be able to run it for a while, I just wouldn't run it too long.

well i took my car to my friends boss who owns his own auto shop and look at my spark plugs and told me i was running lean because the plugs were turning a brown color unlike the NGK's which were goldish and also he said autolites are crappy plugs and am better off with the stock plugs. hes hooking my car up to a scanner tomorrow so we can do diagnostic checks like air fuel ratio and many other important things. jw so i know, what should our afr be at to run safely?
just a note he also said that the cold air intake is probably robbing me of roughly 5 hp and he said i am better off with the stock airbox which i will put back on tomorrow.

I have never personally heard of anyone having good experiences with Autolite's.

Did your friends boss say why he is of the opinion that the CAI is robbing power?

I wouldn't get any GM stage kit seeing there is a tsb out for them. My cars a/f was in the 10's for alot of the powerband with a 3 inch and a cai how it did that I don't know. My guess would be that the computer was dumping too much fuel to make up for all the air I was cramming into the engine. Alos I had the exact setup as you. I got some ngk bkr7e's, intense stage 3 tune, and 42.5 lb injectors and my car is running SOOOOOOOOOO much better.
