Where's my 7000 rpm's ??

I just got my stage 2 installed today (YA!) It took the tech about three hours to do.I could'nt wait to rip on it.I took the car down the street to test it out it felt like it had more power in the low end once i got moving expecting to see 7000rpm's whammy! fuel cuts off at the same as stock?? Was i reading everyones thread wrong? Does stage 2 not get an increased redline?

i had the same experience take it back ASAP they didnt do the reflash.

Yes, it does increase your rev limiter for 7k. Take the car back to the dealership, they may not have done the ECU re-flash.

I did I talked to the Master tech who did the install on my car, he said he didnt know thats its susposed to rasie the redline.Also he said he did call the number for the reflash at least thats what he said.I even asked for him to call the number on the sheet to verify that it did and the person he talked to said the ECU flash just recalibrates the timing and the new injectors.

tell them they better make sure they arent reading the stage1 flash info

they are ******* up BIGTIME.

do NOT back down on this. you did not get your stage 2 reflash.

The revlimiter is 7,000 in properly done Stage 2's. Doesn't matter what someone on a phone says.

Stage 1 gives you 7k rpm as well. His car didn't get flashed at all.

The car moves pretty good im seeing about 17psi with the (2.8 they didnt notice.)and I also noticed that the idol is a little higher than before...

Try to get 7k one more time.If your not getting 7k call the tech line yourself and confirm that the dealer got the reflash download and then if they did,talk to the DEALERSHIP manager not the service manager and let him know that your getting hosed,and dont like it.

There is only one reflash stage 1 or 2 the tuning is the same. However the redline should be 7000 rpm if they reflashed it

What gear did you try hitting 7k? Sometimes the tack reads a little slow in first gear, and it will look like you hit the limiter at 6500. I thought the same thing happened to mine, until I tried second gear and hit 7100 rpm before the limiter bounced me. (custom tune, not stage 2)

one of the guys on here (wheelhoppinss) has that happen every now and then... it will hit the stock limiter... and then be fine to 7k... odd

I think he got A tune, how would it be able to run with 42 lbs injectors and a 2.8 pulley with the stock tune?

If they did the reflash correctly, you should be able to hit the 7K with no problem.

My question is will this cause major problems (like blowing pistons, or detonation) if he doesn't get the tune? I'm just asking b/c alot of people have asked "If i install S2 myself, can i drive it to the dealer to get it reflashed or will that blow up my engine?"

Off the top of my head I would say CED's mock-up dyno, but really, the tech should have some sort of internal documentation to confirm this. Or tell him to call someplace like Bill Heard, which has done a few of the upgrades already.

That dynos a little more accurate, look the stock dyno is more that 200 hp, in fact it looks more like 220-225
