Mine was installed today... SAME THING!!! can't really get past 6500 rpm. I have an 05 though... and it isn't the same as hitting the rev limiter before... it's different now. It just stumbles really hard. I'm gonna go play with it now.

But boy does that SC SCREAM!!!

Man! That sucks! 6500 rpm is too low, first gear sucks unless you can go to 7k then it still sucks just a little less. If I were you I'd have steve raise the limiter to 7k.

What you need to do is go to someone and let them scan your car with HPTuners.
Another option, go to this website http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web enter your VIN and check the code for the VCM, it should be 12605261

actually, thinking about it, that site tells you what should be on your car, not what is on your car.

Haha, I set up my appointment to get it done last thursday... walked in said, I need this part number installed, it's a GM Performance S/C Stage 2 kit.

SO I go in this morning... and the tech comes over... "Lemme check that out" (The kit that was still in the box.)

(Looks...)

"****, he's not putting a supercharger ON... he's got some sort of upgrade type thing."

They thought I was ADDING a S/C to my car! They've worked on my car at least 5 times for stupid cobalt stuff we've all had... how could they not have known?

Pretty damn spiffy deal, under $700 for a sc! What kind of labor were they going to charge you to install that bad boy?

That's disturbing that he didnt' notice there was a pulley in there. O.o

If the new reflash keeps the same power level without reving the car as hard then dont' bitch about it. YOu just gotta shortshift from first into second. Or maybe there's a few thigsn you gotta do before it allows 7000RPM operation as was stated earlier by BACK2GM. Hell the stage kits foul the cats because tehy run too rich, so maybe they leaned them out a shade. Got the HP up there cause of it.

so now we are mail racing? sheesh well if that is the case I have a fully built engine and remote twin turbos with dual intercoolers and a whipple sc'er swap ... and I run on 180 octane fuel with 40" rims and monster truck tires and a radio flyer tricycle pedal setup with 2k led under body kit running 500shot n2o with a bird whistle bov for each turbo

Should have opted for the duck BOV's they give 10rwhp more than the bird ones.

HP is torque times RPM...I'm sorry, but there's no way that GM's tune is going to make the same power at 6450 as it used to at 7000. That's a lot more torque that it has to make with the same boost as before. I mean, the stage 2 pulley is only 10 more hp than the stock one at 7000 rpm...something is definitely wrong here. Let's hope it gets fixed, soon...
I want to get stage 2 by the end of the year, but if I'm not going to get 7000 rpm out of it, then **** it.

the real advantage of the 7000 rev limiter is that you never dip out of the powerband on the 1-2 shift, that is what kills these cars stock in drag racing

Yeah, you can go almost 40 in first, and the drop isn't so huge from first to second.

Had mine flashed and installed this past Thursday and I'm hitting 7k fine. I hope you guys get this figured out. I'd take it back to have a reflash done.
