2006 2.4L SS at my local dealer

Jerry Gleason Chevy in Forest Park, IL. just got this one in. It's a black 2006 SS with the 2.4L Variable Valve timed engine. Automatic, sunroof, 17" polished wheels with Pirelli 205/50R17. It has the 5 lug hubs and SS suspension.

The front facia is the same as the SS/SC front except they put a grill in the ram air duct and didn't put the lip across the bottom egde. The rear facia is a little different too.

It has the low profile rear wing, white faced gauges and satin nickle trim like the LS 1SB. It had cloth seats, which I thought was a big mistake. That really hurt the look. Otherwise it was pretty nice.

ooooo, thanks for the picture! are the wheels like the solstice? or are they just like the s/c?

The front of the 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4L VVT looks great, can't wait to see the rest of the car. I have to take my Cobalt SS/SC in for an oil change so hopefully my Chevrolet dealer, one of the largest in sales volume in the country, will have a '06 Cobalt SS 2.4L VVT that I can look at and, who knows, maybe even drive!

I took that picture with my cell phone. I had a picture of the window sticker too but it was pretty blurry. The wheels are just like the ss/sc except 17" instead of 18". It does not have a supercharger, either on the sedan OR the coupe. This one is a coupe. I remember the EPA highway mileage was posted as 32 MPG. I can try to get some more pics with a better camera later this week if it's still there.

anyone notice the black lower grille? makes me think if you put a grille on the ss s/c it will hurt performance!

Also halfcent, get your a$$ back down there with a camera and get some good pics of the car and rear and especially the engine !
that is your job, if you choose to accept it IMF will disavov any knowledge you exist

It would be interesting to see if the grille hindered performance. I kinda doubt it. That would be my first mod as an SS owner. That heat exchanger seems to get dinged up quite a bit (fair bit of rocks on the road here).

It's just a small silver version of the GM corporate logo. Sorry I don't have a good pic on me but they are pretty tiny. Like 2cm x 2cm.

The SS/SC does not have white face gauges.
