I have a Ls with a ss/sc rear bumper and lip. The paint job was super I know thats the not the problem its the wheel gaurds for the Ls. Its to short to fit and protect the bottom lip on my car. Unfortunatley the shop I had it done at diddent recomened that I should order new wheel well gaurds. Ok so this is whats happening. Its not peeling on the outer lip itslef its peeling under the wheel well where the gaurd stops. I know I need to order these ASAP but What am I going to do to stop the peeling? Once it starts am I basicly screwed? After looking for about 10 minn I realized once the gaurds are put on it will cover the peeling 100% but.. Once its coverd Will the paint peeling stop or will it keep sreading even with the gaurd. Ill take some pics in a few minn and post them up... Thanks

How long ago was that painted?

 

like 4 months ago...I just realized it now so it probably just strated peeling. If you realy think about no matter how good or bad the paint job was all the rocks and debre that was comming from the back tires was hitting the paint. If I can find the Part Number for the gaurds it will cover the whole thing im just worried about it chipping after I get it on. Anyone who does autobody on here that would know? Is chipping like cancer or will it stop if the paint isent being hacked at anymore?

 

Is it actually peeling or is it chipped? Tough to tell in picture. If its peeling I would honestly say they prepped it wrong.

 

Sorry I guess chipped off would be the best word to describe it. Yeah it def wasent peeling becuase the the outer part is perfect it was a great job. I should of known better to get the gaurds sooner but i couldent find a part number. do you think it will be ok once its sealed?

 

well if its chipped it shouldnt peel away. Mine hasnt chipped at all.

 

Well thats beacuase you have a stock ss/sc with the gaurd right? I am missing the protection that you have your yours thats whats causing the damage. I just dont want to buy these gaurds if its going to peel away anyway now...Damn this sucks

Your stock SS/Sc rear wheel well gaurds cover your entire lip protecting it. I have a LS...I dont have and need that gaurd

 

I just called my local dealer and the parts guy gave me a price on the Inner wheel well gaurds. ( $20.40 each ) I said I needed the SS ones because I have a LS ..But I will put any amount of money on it that he screwed up and thought I ment a SS 2.4 .. He also Said I cant order it over the phone cus its a special order so that stinks
