Seat adjustment

Does anybody else have a hard time getting the seat right in your cobalt? I have around 10,000 miles and I love the car but my one complaint is that I feel like the steering wheel is up too close to the dashboard and I'm always reaching way up to get a good grip on the wheel. And when I move the seat up it feels like I'm crammed up against the dash. I felt like I found a perfect spot for a while there but my daughter ruined it when she got out of my side of the car one time and screwed it all up.

I know what you mean. I found a good spot for the seat that is comfortable for me and I hate when someone moves or changes it around, it takes forever to try to find the same spot again .

I know and I don't want to be a dick and tell people they have to climb over to the other side to get out. Its worse on this car than any one I've ever had. And that up and down adjustment makes it even more of a pain trying to remember how it was before.

You mean for letting people in and out of the backseat? I make everyone get in on the passenger side . I know...thats not nice, but driver seat comfort is more important.

I dont think its really the seat adjustments, I think that the steering wheel should tilt down farther, but then again I drive a lot of different cars so Im not to picky about my seat being perfect.

I have to agree with that 100%, I think the steering wheel is too close to the dash.

I think the steering wheel is too close to the dash and too high. the seat base is also too flat, it needs to tilt back a little. I took the two bolt out of the front and shimmed it up with four washers. It doesn't sound like much, but it helps. I have noticed a lot of newer cars have the steering wheel mounted farther forward than the were in the past. I have a theory that they want the airbags and steering wheel farther from the driver for safety reasons. No one wants to be wearing a steering wheel in an accident.

I do the exact same thing, sometimes I feel like a dick for doing it, but I just use the excuse that the driver's side isn't made to let people in and out of the back seat, which isn't really a lie, but I over exaggerate just so I don't have to give up my perfect spot, oh well.
