2 SS/SC's my local dealer has (lots of pics)

So on Sunday I went to check out these 2 SS/SC's, I wanted to check out the new stuff on the '07's in person. Plus I want to get one very soon so I was lookin for that reason too.

They both have: sunroof, side air bags, polished wheels, and low profile spoiler.
The black one has the all black interior, the red one has red inserts.
The red one also has LSD.

Even though the black one doesn't have LSD, I still want it more than the red one. I don't really need it as i will hardly ever launch the **** out of it, or auto-x it or anything like that.

Some video I took while I was there:

And the pics:

And here's my current car:

I dont know if its just that dealer, because a few that I have checked out by me have the smaler wing as well. Personally i would rather the smaller, but since I wanted one in 05 I cant turn back now. The only dissapointment is that of all the ones that I have seen none of them have the G85 package.

i must say... i understand some peoples wish to remove the high spoiler....

but its grown on me to the point where an ss/sc doesnt look right without it.

just my opinion....

Im assuming theres probably a price difference between them too due to the LSD?

IMO if you dont intend to auto-X that much....think of it this way.

how many times in a year will you truely get use from your LSD....

How many times a year will you look at the car wishing it was the other color?

BCM what is your opinion on the spoiler? Do you like the low pro better? Also, do you like the polished rims better? I liked the high spoiler and I like the gunmetal rims better, so I'm just curious as to what you think. Don't get a car because its the only one near your house, I looked all over for mine and the nearest dealer with one was almost 2 hours away. Get exactly what you want so you don't regret that car note.

I've noticed the same thing at the dealer near me. They are both low spoiler and both have polished rims. I guess they are really trying to differentiate the '07s? I didn't like the polished rims at first, but that car stands out from across the expressway among all the other cars on the lot. I'm glad I got the gunmetal, but the polished ones look a lot better in person than in pics.

As for the low spoiler, I personally think it was ridiculous for GM to make it standard in the beginning. Somthing like that should never be standard. I don't think that it should have been removed, but it should be optional. I gaurantee that they lost a lot of sales based on that alone. There are more people who wouldn't buy the car because of the wing than there are people who wouldn't because of the low spoiler. IMO I did not want to be associated in any way with the type of people that usually have huge wings on their cars, and that's why I opted for the low-pro. All they need to do now is make it an option to remove the spoiler all together and everyone would be happy.

When I was doing prices online for my car I noticed on the build & price at chevy's site they had a check box for the spoiler and price didnt change. I assumed if you didn't check the spoiler box it came without it...

I was used to not using my rearview mirror since my civic's mirror wouldn't stay up with my subs in the car, so I guess I didn't have much of an adjustment to go through

I would prefer the low pro spoiler over the other one, I like the unpolished rims better, but the polished ones still look great IMO, I don't really like what they've done with the new gunmetal rims on the 07s though. Looked much better before.

At first I wanted a red one, then I decided I want a black one now, I don't think I would regret gettin a black one over any other color, black is my favorite color on almost any car lol.

Only thing that I might regret is not getting LSD, but even if I had it I probably wouldn't have much use at all for it anyway.

Still kinda deciding on what options, etc. I want, but I'm leaning towards the black one they have.

The only options I REALLY want is sunroof, side airbags, and get it in black, black/black or black/red interior, and obviously the one I'm looking at has all that.

MMMMM black cobalt is good. The wing has its good and bad too. Now that the wether is colder my Cobalt really came alive even know I put the 3.0 back on. I can not wait till I can get a tune and 60ies for the 2.8.

you know.. you can get the black with coloured inserts.. just be sure to look around.. or even order one.. it may be cheaper and more beneficial to you to go that route..

As others have said. the SS/SC with a low pro wing just doesn't look like to me. I like my huge ass wing and i would never get rid of it. As for the wheels, IMO, gunmetal is better. Well congrats on whatever u choose.

i think as far as the spoiler goes i would either have the big one or none at all. and i took the none at all choice and made the trade.

get the red. Bet you'll regret black after awhile. Scratches and rcosk chips do not agree with this colour.

I think that the red inserts look better becuase otherwise the interior just looks to plain. When people look at my car they always comment on the seats. Have fun picking out your car!

Yea, I have black too and I wish I went with either Red or Silver. Don't do it unless you live somewhere that never gets rain like SoCal or something.
