does anyone have an estimated whp on the 2.4 stock. im guessing around 150 is that resonable i wouldnt mind getting an exact whp guess. i installed my intake and want to get dynoed then install the rest of my parts and then tune and dyno to see overall proformance gains thanks guys.

I think G5Mike dynoed his stock to almost 160 at the wheels. He'd be the one to ask since he got a baseline stock reading before he started modding it.

g5mike didnt have a stock dyno as far as i know, and theres no way a stock 2.4 hits 160whp, ppl on here have reported 145-150whp

The whp largely depends on what type of dyno you use and whether it's an auto or manual tranny.

I had my 2.4 auto dyno'd at 142whp with full bolt-ons on a dyno dynamics dyno. A ss/sc with minor mods put down 198whp on the same dyno a week before I tested. My car runs a 15.35sec 1/4 mile (on a bad day) which is a lot better than some guys run that dyno in the 160-170whp range on a dynojet. Mustang dyno's also throw low numbers. Switching between different dynos of the same make will make a difference too - just not as much.

Moral of the story: Get your car dyno'd stock on one dyno. Get a corrected reading (for temp, barr pressure, and humidity), and use this to compare your car to after mods on the exact same dyno.

yeah i dont want to take my intake back off i got it all on. its a manual 2.4 just wanted to have someone tell me what a good number would be. 150 sounds reasonable.

140-150 seems to be the golden number on the 2.4.

Like he said, every dyno is different - read it, learn it, live it. Click on the link in my sig for the dyno numbers on my 2.4 Auto here in the Mile High City on a notoriously low dyno. The important thing is the percentage increase with the GMPP intake and scoop. That's all dyno numbers are good for - percent change, not "real" numbers.

for comparison reasons, dynojets are better because they are far more consistant. Mustang dyno's are arguably better for tuning because they simulate load. Mustang dyno numbers are also arguably more accurate if the dyno is properly calibrated, but so much of that depends on the shop workers knowing how to calibrate it perfectly, that it is very hard to have 2 mustang dynos as consistant with eachother as two dynojets.

Almost 160 and it being 155 I'd say I was pretty damn close going off memory! LOL!

so then me adding a CA header gm exhaust and highflow DP should give me the actual 175 to the wheels maybe. and thats after tune also dynod on dynojet.
