sliping clutch

hey guys i jus had a question on the warranty on clutches....i was out racein friday and f***ed my ckucth up....its still driveable but takin of hard the rev s go up but the car is going no where so i was gonna take it to the dealer to get it checked out i have the gm st2,ingells etd, and dc strut tower bar.

so its up to the dealers to decided if it coverd or not? is what ur sayin?its always a headache with this car and the dealer i never have a good experience when i go

I just had my clutch replaced under warranty this week.

It is totally up to the dealer if they eill cover it or not.

GM considers the clutch to be a wear item so if they don't want to cover it they don't have to.

yeah dealers are bullshit, it is a wear and tear item i know. but i had my cobalt for only 4 weeks and the clutch went out. They didn't cover it unfortunately. but i bought a spec stage II clutch i'm going to install into it. would have needed a stage II sooner or later.. better sooner than later i guess.

how much did the part cost u? and how much would ur install be?

part was $606. cheapest i could find. and install only costs me time.. cuz it'll prob take me and a friend all day to do it..
