what don't you like about the Cobalt?
what don't you like about the Cobalt?
And what would you like to see in future model years?
Now I think the Cobalt is nearly perfect and the best car in its class but there are few things that I don't like:
Trunk opening on coupes is a bit small
Lighter steering would be welcomed
lower engine rpms at highway speeds. A 6 speed could take care of that.
umm.........
okay on the wish list:
2.4L with
direct injection
More aggressive VVT
185hp@6500
174lbs-ft @4500rpm
6 speed manual
7000 rpm redline
2.2L Turbo SS:
all features of the 2.4L
235hp
225lbs-ft
A 5 speed automatic optional on all engines....or even a 6 speed auto.
So what don't you like and what would you like to see?

a) option of a less vision blocking/wiggle prone/hey cop, give me a ticket please! wing on ss s/c
b) 6 speed would be nice (don't the saabs have this?)
c) body color gauge faces ala GTO as an option
d) recaros/lsd standard
e) option of a nav system/dvd audio compatible system for those that want to keep the stock look inside.
f) HID factory option (the only thing i really liked on the mazda sp23 that i couldn't get on the cobalt)

Have you seen the Mustang guages? 128 colors!!! that would be nice. DuPont Chromallusion paint would be awesome too!
Also, how about 4 wheel disc brakes on the base models & LS models. Cant stand my drum brakes on my sedan.
An option to TURN OFF THE DANG TRACTION CONTROL!

an option to turn off the traction control would be nice......the only way to shut if off is to put the car in 2nd or 1st (automatic) or pull up the parking break to the first notch, but then it dings b/c the brake is on
also, some better tires on the base cobalt would have been nice.......the doughnuts they put on my car are really bad with traction
otherwise, i love my car......for what i pay ($160/month lease) i am very happy with my car

Seriously who ever thought of the wing should be punched--especialy for making it standard equipment
they should deliver the SS here in the color yours is
the headlights need to be changed , and the rear spoiler on the ss/sc needs to be optional , its optional on the redline , unless they droped the tall spoiler
You know there's a problem when Formula 1 cars have smaller wings than the SS/SC.
It actually doesn't look that bad from the front, but once you get in close to the side of the car or rear, it really does look awkward.

It would have been nice if my SS/SC was completely assembled when I bought it. A lot of the nuts and bolts were lose, and one of the rear speakers had a stripped out mounting hole. The painted plastic in the interior is also VERY cheap, it chips and peels very easily and is starting to look like hell. Some real brushed aluminium would have been worth the extra cost. Oh yeah, the leather under the door grip is pulling away cause it's not long enough to fit under there. Why the hell can GM put my $22,000 2500 HD together with flawless fit and finish, but not a $23,000 car?
6 spd manual would be awesome, lose the wing, smaller one would be nice, and yeah, take care of the door panel vinyl, mine is peeling away also, oh yeah, and the seat leather, something that doesn't look so worn after only 2 weeks.
6-speed for the 2.0 (my focus had this standard)
HID's (my focus had this as a factory option)
A 4-2-1 race header for 2.0 (my focus had this standard)
6 disc CD changer on pioneer system, instead of cheesy 1 disc (focus had 6 disc changer)
7k rpm redline (focus had this)
HID's (my focus had this as a factory option)

-6 speed
-armrest (with storage)
-ditch the autolocking BS
-different wing with more visibility
-dont care about 6 disc since its mp3 but it would be nice if it had an aux port or was ipod ready
-different e brake handle
-LSD and Recaros Std
-one touch sunroof open
-different backgrounds for gauges opt.
-better pedals (metal)

6 speed would definitely be nice. Aftermarket pedals are ok but some nice brushed aluminum ones like the corvettes have would be killer. A wing that is somewhere between the current SS/SC and the regular ss spoiler would solve alot of problems too.
