well it looks like i suck at driving! my girlfriend was in the car when i was running.

i ran a 16.1 @ 87.xx with a 2.6x 60ft the first time (lol) this was my first time with a 5spd at the track.

second run yielded a 15.9 @ 88.xx with a 2.4x 60ft & major wheel hop

it was too late to run some more, i want to go back on a dead night.i should be able to net a <15.5 solo and a good launch, still stock.

i pegged the limiter on the second run in 2nd too. oh well. someday

on a side note, there was an 07 si running 15.5-15.7 all day, and ss/sc's running 15.1 stock. maybe the track just sucked that night.

maybe. what track did you go to? How did they let you run it with your G/F in the car?

15.1 from an SS/SC?? yeah that track sounds like it blew!

But on the good side you now know what you need to work on AND with a good launch you'll be running a 15.5 and competeing with the SI. I'd say it was a good base line not a failure.

50 degrees. there were alot of high horsepower cars there that night too. parachutes and everything, they leave alot of rubber on the track.

yeah id say track temp cuz if its cold your not going to get good grip on the road from tires. so if its like today in ohio its almost 80 right now track at norwalk would be around 95 cuz its blacktop.

my local track lets you have any amount of passengers in the car, as long as your not faster than 14sec.

yep. we will see what happens next time when i run down the track without the girl (not that she is heavy, which she thought thats what i meant), and without the 30lbs of junk in the trunk. warmer day too. better shifting, better launch, etc...could go on forever. definitely had more in it.

Practice makes perfect. You just need some more experience getting that launch better. By those numbers, it looked like after the first 60ft you were pretty consistent with it being 13.5 seconds for both runs. Get those numbers down and work on shifting that thing faster and at the right time every time.

At the end of the day, the important thing is that you have fun and it looks like you did

i learned that at the track if you get wheel hop you gotta get off the throttle...wheel hop and spin are just going to slow you down so you have to get out of it if its that bad.

Eh, the Si's arent that fast. I drove one and it was slightly mod'ed (I/H/E) and it still didnt have the pull mine does (2.4L 5 spd.). He drove mine and almost lost it because he wasnt used to the torque He didn't want to run after that
