why is going wingless so difficult, help needed!!!

Well I decided I wanted togo wingless, so I started out this morning. Well I took off the bolts, then using fishing line, goo gone, and a hair dryer, I have made only a little progress. I am looking for any tips or tricks todo this. That black adhesive is just resticking to itself everytime I cut through it with the fishing line. Help me please.

When i put my insert in.. I used the line with a screwdriver tied on both ends, and created sorta a noose. i wiggled the screwdriver with one hand cutting and pulled with the other.

Im not sure about between the trunk and the wing though

Took me a couple of hours of struggling with mine to get it off. I also dented the trunk lid slightly on the left side, from putting too much pressure on the wing when trying to remove it.

it took along time to get mine off the ss/sc base is huge... it takes a lot of heat and time... then when youre done you'll have huge scratches where the wing used to be lol

i used the fishing string also and it took a awhile. i ended up doing only so much and just started pulling and i used a scraper. the one you would use to lay putty or something on. you just have to be careful you dont scratch the trunk. if you try to leave some glue between the scraper and trunk you may have luck. it sucks though it takes some time to make it come out good.

Update, well i got the wing off and have a decent amount of glue still on it. I currently have it soaking in goo gone to loosen it some. If that doesnt work, what are some suggestions? That and how did you guys plug your holes, I was thinking of using plastic push pin clips and painting the head orange to match.

you can use goo gone on paint. its says its for tar and stuff too. i used it on some of my stuff before and i never had a problem with it. as for holes i have some auto zone plugs in temporarily till i can get the holes welded in and painted. i just used a silicone also so it does not leak. its not really adheisive silicone but it works well.
you can probably sit there and peel off the glue not that you want to hear that but it does work it just takes a little and starts to hurt the fingers but at leaset you will have no scrathes or anything messing with your paint. good luck on getting it off
