You bought it without knowing?

G85 adds a LSD and Recaro front seating.

i bought my SS without knowing there was a g85 package also , its not THAT big of a deal unless you like mesh in your seats and like to autocross

i mean you can argue that an lsd is the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE EVER but i bet if a newb or anyone that doesnt race hardcore autocross wouldnt notice a 1,000$ worth of a difference

You may still have the diff. Recaros were deleted in early 07, now it's just the LSD w/regular leather seats. Check the RPO codes on the sticker in the trunk - I believe it still says G85, not sure on that one though.

Should still say G85, they do still offer the package, except now it only includes LSD, does not have the Recaro seats since late fall of last year.

The recaros are worth every cent in my opinion. I test drove a new one with the G85, then sat in a non-G85, then I bought mine with G85 Def. worth it. They just hug me so nice

I agree. I've been in a few cobalts that don't have the recaro's, and I would never switch back. I'm very glad I went for the recaro's when I got my car.

if they had offered the recaros and LSD as separate options i may have taken the seats.

But I see no value in an LSD for me personally.

Its alot of money for something that will only truely become useful for you if you do alot of hard acceleration with the wheels turned.

The seats kick ass compared to the non recaros I rode in a car with blue inserts it was like sitting on a park bench I was sliding all over the place while doing some spirited driving

to each is their own I suppose... I actually hate the look of the recaro's so I swapped them out of my car in favor of a set of all black leather ones. I didn't really notice that much of a difference between the two and I just liked having the all black interior look

It is not the only time an LSD will be usefull. You guys made the decision to not buy the G85 package, if you want to continue downplaying it go a head. The LSD should have been a standard with the SS/SC Hell I would have baught a 2.4l SS if they had the LSD in it or even an option for it.

07's with G85 don't have recaro's anymore. price was lowered to $750 for just LSD.

Could not agree more. They bill it as an all around performance car, race ready, etc and then leave off the most important standard part.

Im not downplaying it.
but im not paying that kinda money for a part that id never use.
If you autocross. road course or if you must insist....(though i dont think it helps straight line, but thats another argument) drag race, then its probably worth the outlay.

But like i said....I wouldnt get use out of it near enough to justify it.
you can play it UP all you want. but in reality its not a part that every cobalt ss/sc needs.
