Well, i ran 4 runs. First time ever at the track. 1st run was 14.5 2nd run 14.5 3rd run was 14.48 4th run was 14.44. Wtf man i thought i was supposed to hit 13's man. My first run i tried to launch @ 1800 rpm that really sucked cuz my car almost stalled. lol. everyone totally exaggerates how slick this track is so i was like ok im gonna launch low. 2nd run. i got super nervous and fucked up on the launch again. 4th run was almost perfect man. I just dont get how i ran such a low time. Well it was like 90 degrees outside and humid as hell.

WHat are usual times with these mods that i have??????

with your mods your car is capable of 13s.
Maybe not on a real hot day though.....

how long have you been driving, and how many times have you been to a track?
After driving my car for a while i look back and realise that my driving was pretty bad first few times to the track. its still not amazing but its getting better.

this was my first time ever at the track. I think my driving skills are decent man. just not as good on the track. Do i need to learn to feather the clutch pedal on launches? I just let the tires break lose and try to gain traction from there. but i spin pretty bad i guess. Im sure my driving needs improving. ive been driving it for a year and like 3 months. hard so im alright ya know. def no expert. just decent enough to kick some ass on the street and not worry about ever losing because being a shitty ass driver

its just gonna take time bro.

I was in your exact spot last year. I know it feels like your doin everything right....dont feel like your some horrible driver or something....but i think its just something that takes some practice.
once i saw that my driving was kinda lettin me down, i started to practice my launches now and then when i have a chance.

after i started practicing and relaxing at the strip instead of being real nervous....i knocked a full half second off my time.

it just takes patience and practice.

Your first time at the track is a reality check after that, it's all about adjustments.

What MPH are you running? Quarter mile times are deceiving because of traction or lack of it: SS/SC are not good 1/4 mile time cars due to traction....I see AWD cars in low to mid 13s but they trap @ same mph as stage II cars (so from roll = even) I also picked up .5 of second after 10-15 times down track. What were your 60' foot times???

I had my car for 3 days and went 14.5@98 bone stock, also only had three attempts. (track was busy) people are gonna disagree with me but IMO slip the clutch off the tree so you keep the rpm's high but dont spin the tires. Im not saying all the way through first, but its all trial and error. good luck

On my best run of the night my 60 time was 2.353. my 1/8 was 9.464 @ 78 mph, 1000 ft mark 12.16 and 1/4 was 14.418 @ 100mph. i have these 225/45/18 tires on. i think they could be hurting me. i should have got 225/40 or 225/ 35. These tires even look huge.

that's the problem right there.. for 13's you gotta get that 60' down to like 2.28 seconds or better

badboy when did u go cuz i went on wednesday?and did u goto bithlo? i ran 14.6 @ 98.58 with a 2.5 60'. all i have is stage 2. so dont feel so bad. but its mainly the humidity and u prolly had some heat soak too. but pratice makes perfectly or at least as close to perfect as u can get. also like they said 60' is key to good times. u will see a big difference when this drops

I agree.. even with a 2.35 60' i was still hitting 13.9s.. to run 14.1 with the same 60'.. stage 2 isn't takin an STi with even a boost controller.
but, i beat a stock EVO by 4-5 cars from 50mph-110/115mph(stage 2 was not the route i chose )

Launch at 2 grand, feather the clutch until 3500 then get on it all the way and make sure you shift smooth and fast, this nets me 2.203-2.200 60's on blizzaks in a non-lsd redline and i should have nailed a 2.1 but i left the track tonight early. Drag radials and im going to be at 1.8-1.9 60's consistantly. Its all about how you drive your car man good luck for next time and feather your clutch out!

You went to OSW thats why, there track prep sucks. Most run 2-3 tenths of a second faster at other tracks. Speedworld is just a slick track.

i did keep up with the sti that runs 12.9 but it was from a 40mph roll, and i beat a stock 07 sti by 3 car lengths, 3 times. i could tell that the higher revlimit helped alot, b/c he fell back every time he shifted. at the track i cant get the launch down my best et is in my sig, i cant wait for my tune 60#s and 2.8. i should be a mid 13 then with the boost limited in 1st gear
