hey guys i was wanting to change the oil in my car this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew how to empty the pan and change the filter as well as how many quarts i need to put in also what the nest synthetic brand would be for the chevy cobalt ls sport coupe 2.2 ltr thank guys

Furthest back upright side of the oilpan is where you'll find the drain bolt. Jack it up and get some stands under it, get a 5 quart or larger pan, remove your drain bolt. Filter is located on top of the motor to the right side of the plastic intake manifold. Black plastic cap with a huge 6pt nut, i think it's 1-3/8 or 1-1/2" cant remember, cover it with a rag and grab it with some channel locks. Put your new filter in, don't tighten the cap too much(half turn after it seats), put your drain bolt back in (don't over tighten as well or you'll have fun getting it off next time) and filler up with 5 quarts of your favorite 5W-30.

I just changed mine the other day and used a 32mm socket to get oil filter out

$70 bux to change the oil on a 2.2l ecotec?!?! That doesn't sound right.. SS/SC i could understand but not on a 2.2...

well u go to jiffy lube man they charge u thru the nose unless u have a coupon anywhere around here u pay at least 60 for full synthetic
