Today when I was driving around I went to put my car in 1st and it made a real loud popping noise. later while on the highway it jumped out of 5th. Then after leaving the mall I started my car and it made a rattling noise for a few secs. I've always had trouble getting my car into 1st or R. I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow, but I just wanted to know if anyone on here has ever had any of this happen to them and what it was.

its probably just a synchro if your lucky...

 

actually my tranny blew a hole in the case on friday morning. I took it in back in may for a knocking noise and now the tranny is toast. and i'm fighting with gm for warrnty
