insurance differences

I'm wondering what kind of insurance differences there are between the ls cobalts and the ss? Are they both classified in the same category?

For people that own either, let me know what you pay for insurance and possibly a little driving history for reference.

Reason being... I'm looking for a change. I'm either thinking about trading my ls in for an ss, or buying a wrecked ss and doing alot of swapping around.

I've got good credit, I've already checked with the dealer and I can trade my ls in for a brand new ss and my payments will only rise $40/month. Only problem is I have a pretty bad driving record due to past immaturities and I'm kinda worried about my insurance shooting through the roof if I were to buy a sporty supercharged coupe. But my insurance wouldn't raise at all if I were to convert what I have now to ss specs(I have my own shop so labor isn't a problem).

I went from having an 05 LS loaded and an 07 SS/SC loaded w/side airbags paying 720/6 months to having an 07 SS/SC loaded w/o side airbags and an 07 SS/SC loaded w/side air bags paying 780/6 months. Both is Full coverage with 500 deductible.

My wife as a few speeding tickets but that's it. Our credit is(was) pretty good.

Hope it helps.

so it sounds like your insurance didn't change too much. They probably only raised it slightly because it's a newer vehicle.

I wish my rates were that low... I pay around 400/month full coverage 1000 deductible right now thanks to being a single 21 male and needing an sr22.
