New Cobalt
New Cobalt
Hey all, im new here, well my back story, im a huge chevy fan, always have been. Currently own a 03 Cavalier, and a 95 z28, The Cavalier is on its last legs (bought it rather beat up and cheap as a car for the snow driving) We'll now that college is coming around im looking to sell both the z28 and the cavalier, and just buy one nice car.
Currently looking at cobalts, very few are actually around here where I live, found this web site while i was at work today so, i have a few questions.
1st off, performance wise, how does the super charger in the 2.0 cobalt perform? My friend has a decent super charger on his 3000gt but it has some pretty bad lag if your not in the perfect gear you get a huge performance hit.
2nd, since its been raining last few days here, i have not been able to test drive any of the cobalts im interested in, so i ask: What do you guys think of the suspension? The roads around my house are rather windy and hilly, but its perfectly smooth, theirs nothing quiet as fun as ripping on my camaro threw these turns, and if i get a cobalt SS ill probably do the same when im bored.
And lastly iv heard the clutch on most SS's are a bit iffy, rather clunky from a normal launch and have a tendancy to lurch even if you've driven the car for awhile. Is this true?
Thanks, and im enjoying the forum, nice set up you guys got

Well if you have a windy road I would gte the ss/sc with the G85 package. it comes with limited slip differential. As for the s/c it has a good sense of power but alot of people just upgrade to a stage 2, and for the clutch a lot of people have complains about the slipping.
And Welcome to the site!

I agree with this man. I love the z28, but iv kept it in near mint condition and was offered 11 grand for it (30k miles, perfect paint, black leather interior, non leaking t-tops, premium sound system ect) So i couldnt turn that down as a college student haha.
I also had a Z-28 before my SS , 95 LT1 6M . Fun to drive factor is pretty close , i miss the torque of the camaro , and the 13.5 1/4 mile times (bunch of bolt-on's ) 8). Now i can drive the balt year round and throw the kids in the back alot easier lol.
