my 06 ss/sc has a little problem . my door handles started to chip all of a sudden. first it was my passanger side door then my door?! First i blamed it on my sisters ,and some of my femal friends, cuz of their NAILS. Then it started to chip on my side . whats the deal yo!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else had this problem , and is it warranted????????

 

happened to my on both sides. took it to dealership and had both inserts replaced under warranty. Its that GM quality.

 

It is a common problem on these cars, but didn't bother getting it covered under warranty. I just painted them black. Pics are in my gallery. Looks better anyway.

 

Same here i whent back to my dealer and they put 2 new ones in. I wonder how long they will last

 

Is it from fading? just curious to know if its going to happen to mine anytime soon, lol

You are talking about the door pull trim cups, not the actual latches, correct?

 

the warranty covers it.. take it to the dealer.

 

I took mine off and painted mine.

 

yeah its starting on mine now too. Just gonna paint the interior trim red.

 

yup same here....We got no love from GM even the 4 doors... Mine are sitting at the dealship waiting for me... I showed them that after the top of the shifter knob came off and they replaced it with a new one....hmmmm what else can I get out of them.....lol

 

Complain enough to GM and maybe a free oil change??? LOL

 

i just painted mine with matched silver. It looks good as new.

i need to replace mine, i have a question about these, mine are actually starting to rasie up like red insert is coming out and bring the door grab with it, any one else having this problem

 

its really bad paint or whatever they use. It's happening to mine, and to Herndon_High_SS's
i think its a comment problem

 

What silver did you use? I am looking for a silver that matches.
