got an ss/sc about a month ago and im wishing i woulda got an srt-4...anybody else feel this way?? i love the way my car looks, just the srt-4 has so much potential to be ****** fast...damn
For a while I wish i got something faster, although not a Neon. I don't think I could survive a year with that interior
As for speed, I guess if you really want straight line stop light to stop light performance, yea I can see why you'd want the SRT-4. However I did go to an auto-x this weekend for the first time with the SS and I beat every SRT out there, even one with 340 whp, and another who's extremely experienced. So for me, I'd rather have the well balanced car, i.e. the Cobalt.

nope, the interior, and well the exterior as well ruin it for me. the ss/sc is a far better daily driver IMO
I once had a Neon, not one of the SRT and it was actually one of the worst cars I had. I ended up trading it in for a Cavalier back then. The Neon was leaking oil as fast as I could pour it in.
My SS/SC is still a nice car and gets all kinds of compliments. A few weeks back I had some biker dude with his chick on the back pull up and the chick was all checking out my car.

And "hp potential" doesn't mean enough to me if everything else isn't lined up.
Yes, the SRT was a blast to drive but it never really suited me.
The "viper" inspired seats (which were installed in every car in my area) literally made it a royal pain in the butt every time I got in/out of the car. That got old fast...
I liked having the 4 doors on the SRT (throw the groceries in etc. in the back seat), but being a single guy I didn't really need them.
Suspension is much tighter in the SS/SC (I love the "flatness" it has while cornering), and the shifter mechanism in the SS/SC is light years ahead that of the SRT's.
And while I thought that the stock SRT wheels looked very nice - the SS/SC's wheels are even better!
Considering the base sound system in both cars (which is what I had) the SC also wins hands down. A 200+ watt, XM capable, w/trunk mounted sub woofer radio ... there's no comparison.
Getting to your question of performance, Stage 2 is only $750 installed and is factory WARRANTIED. That easily brings the SS/SC to the same level as the SRT (which is all I'm interested in, if I wanted a "mega" hp vehicle I wouldn't go with either car).
And that's why I have no regrets at all what so ever with my purchase of SS/SC ...
to an srt4? no i easily could have gotten one and like my car
not buying a 06 red 350Z wit the 300HP motor??? yea at times i def regret not spending the extra $60 a month, but with my money situation i made the right choice

they have pics like that about us, its a cobalt picture..
it says "COBALT, GMs answer to the SRT-4... only slower"
you can blow the doors off a 350z for less than 300 dollars. you made the right choice. but those VQ engines do SOUND nasty.
