regrets
I wish sometimes I got the SS/SC...but you know what...the 2.4 is more than enough for me. I have my bike if i wanna go fast and you know i wail on my car and it seems to like me for it.
28K for a RSX is about right around here...one of these days my gf and I are gonna take pix of prices from this Acura dealer accross the bridge...

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way too. I have a 2.2 and it's a base model. Means not power window, mirror, and other good stuff. The sales lady just got into me bout the car and neither do I know I'm already driving it to my house. The next day, I was like, "Why do I have this car??".. I should've gotten a RSX type S or a SRT-4..
And btw, the sales lady was hot as hell too!!! (she was hired in that dealer for some reason I'll assumed)
Maybe if I get to put some aftermarket parts in my cobalt I'll appreciate it more I hope.

too bad its auto... still tho
Well both cars are good...
I don't care so much for the SRT4... but I won't **** talk on someone elses decision on what they drive. I will say the SRT4 can be made fast for cheap... but IMO it looks cheap too.
I'm not a fan of 4 door sports cars (thus one of the reason I don't own an EVO or WRXsti). 4 doors = family and sunday drives to get ice-cream. SS/SC - two doors... shake n bake
Although in due respect to the SRT4 (as ugly as it may be) it does haul some serious ass when heavily modded.
And not taking away from the Cobalt (which I only count the SS/SC in trying to compare to a SRT4) but the SS/SC has a **** ton of potential. Its just going to take some time and patience to find out which route we all need to go with mod'n the SS. Time, patience, money... thats all.

I have no regrets buying my Cobalt...I was a huge Cavi fan back in the day and was deciding between the leftover 05 Cavi LS Sport (white) and the Cobalt when it first came out...waited a year and decided on the brand new toy with the much improved engine....I like how rare the ss/sc is, I seriously get excited when I see another one on the road...think about how many times you see an SRT-4 compared to a SS/SC...I still get compliments to this day on the car, some from people who 'didn't know thats what the Cobalt really looked like". To each its own, but I have no regrets other than I wish I had more spare cash at the moment so I could mod the hell out of it
I love my IRL but my only real complaints are that gm didn't put any thought into them. They just used parts they had from other cars and threw it all together. Case in point..
1. The transmission. Why would we need such a short 1st gear? That gear was designed for Europeans who tow with there saab and is totally unnecessary in the states. The gears in a whole are too short and they should have used the 3.53 final drive ratio out of the 9-3 instead of the ultra short 4.05 we have now.
2. The Engine. Why destroke the engine? We WANT torque and a 2.4L LSJ would have made 20+ more lbs of it at the wheels across the board. They also could have cheaped it out and just gave us the Viggen motor. That engine puts down what 240hp and 290lbs of torque?
3. No LSD Standard. Another cost cutting move. Let's put 220 horsepower through the front wheels with an open diff. VERY smart GM.
Now i'm not going to say the SRT4 is better but it is better in some aspects but not all. In 03 the SRT4 had an open diff and DCX saw how much of a mistake that was so they made it standard in 04. Also a boost in power and the stage kits. They also provided the SRT4 with a built motor that can take what 500whp? What can the LSJ take? 350 at the most? GM doesn't care about us. All they cared about was throwing together a car to make money.

I love when people talk about SRT-4s and then the only ammunition they have against the car is that "it has a ugly interior" ROFL
Like seriously, who decides a car SOLELY on the interior?
Wait, nevermind...appearantley some of you did.
And sorry but I know people who spent 3k and are barely producing any power with the M62. How many are reaching 300+ WHP with the M62 and no nitrous?
Atleast dodge was smart enough to use a turbo and not a tiny supercharger.
4k and 11s in the 1/4 mile. Hmm...

SRT (Mopar) is an internal division like SVT (Ford Racing) that devlops focused products. GM just has sickers and parts from other vehicles thrown in.
GM is a corperation, to make money, not a self help group, or a car club run by a bunch car nuts. Its run by accountants period. We choose or not to buy the products they produce.
