Water on the passnger floor

While driving home from the KC meet water started dripping on my foot around the gas pedal area, well i didn't think anything about it since it stopped, and the guys told me it was from me having the ac on and the windows down......so yesterday i come out of work get in the car and look over at the passenger side floor to pick up a cd that fell when i picked up the cd it was wet i was all confused so i touched the floor and it was soaked.......

So what could be wrong????? I thought it could be the sunroof seals or the door seals but the seats aren't wet, just the floor, and just the passenger side floor......

Please help......any ideas?????????????

That's the only thing I would have thought it was.

Your car isn't a female, right? She doesn't just randomly start leaking, right?

GM is notorious for this issue, I see it all the time when I change windshields out. Most likely what it is hat's leaking is the cabin fresh air intake. It sits drectly under the passenger side of the windshield, in the firewall, and what is happening is the drainage holes around the fresh air intake are clogge, and water is instead finding it's way down through the intake, which drops right into your passenger floorboard. THis is huge problem in the last generation Impala, monte carlo, malibu, etc. All you need to do, should this in fact be the case, is blow the drain hoes out and you'll be good to go.

And I'll say this just because I hear from customers all day long. It IS NOT the windshield leaking in order for t to be a windshield leak, water would have to travel down the glass, then back up under the glass, through the urethane sealant and under the dash....Physics alone makes this impossible, unless you're going about 200+MPH. Anyone who has ever had a job replacing windshields can back me up on this.

In the end, I'd check that cabin intake, just pull the wipers off, remove the cowl and look on the the passenger side, and you'll see what I mean. If you want, take some pics, and pm them to me, or email, and I'll take a look for you.

If i's the heater hose like hatrick said, they should indeed replace the interior, although you may have to push for it...If it's the fresh air intake, probably not, but if you push em hard enough you may be abl to get them to do it.

THe drain hole for the sunroof would cause it to leak in the headliner, not the floorboard

The sunroof has 4 drain ports. All of those attack to 4 rubber hoses. Two hoses run through the front pillars. and two run twards the back of the car. If any of those hoses develops a crack it could leak anyway. If one of the hoses pops off it would drain on the headliner.

But the sunroof also has a seal round the outside. So water would have to get into that the car first.

I had almost the same issue. Water started to pour on the passenger side. I took it to a dealer and they adder an elbow hose at 90 degrees. It is like if the water returns from the drain. Just my thoughts

Could also be a clogged drain tube from the A/C
