Paint

Hey everyone,

Just finalized my deal for a sunburst orange SS/SC. I am curious if the paint issue is really what some people on this site have made it out to be.

I used to own a civic si and that thing had a new chip to touch up every week in the summer and like 10-15 after each winter.

Is the paint really that horrible?

i haven't had problems. i've had my car almost a year and i think there's only two chips. and they're tiny, you can't even see it unless you look closely. keep in mind that here in oregon they gravel the roads in the winter. we have lots of crazy environmentalists that won't let us salt

i havn't noticed any chips in my car after 2 winters with salt and 2 springs when they don't bother to clean the salt, they let the rain do everything.

well it won't be nearly as bad on an orange car then it is on black!

Get the 3M protective material put on the front part of the hood---it will save you sometimes.

my 2006 SB orange SC just rolled 25,000 today (I do a bunch of highway driving w/ trucks).... I have more chips on this car than I have ever had on any car before... I assumed that the trucks and rock salt being kicked up in the winter was the cause

is there some problem with this color?

Regardless I love my SC and am very happy with her
