HP difference from temperatures..
HP difference from temperatures..
How dramatic of a change would there be in overall horsepower depending on temperatures?
Such as 228hp at 95 degrees, then another pull at 75 degrees? What kinda gain could I see? Is it even quantifiable? Or to random to put a number on the difference?

I made 231 on a 110 degree day. I imagine i'd see a 10+ drop at 75 degrees
temp makes a huge difference, especially with F/I cars.
up here we have been sneaking into the 40s overnight, and driving home after a nightshift its a completely different car.
the difference between power at 100* and 50* wouldnt surprise me if it was as much as 20hp

I should look into meth i suppose..
Is it safe to put a bag of ice on the S/C inbetween dyno pulls? I've heard stories of dumbasses that spray down their car when it overheats, but that would be like 350+degrees compared to 220 degrees when on the dyno..

You car guys haven't felt the difference temp can make till you've tried flying small airplanes. In the winter, my takeoff rolls would be half the length they are in the summer.
Anyhow, I can't remember the exact formulas for air density vs temperature, but if you did, you could easily produce a good estimate...

I love the iat temps in the winter over here....I see like 55 degree temps crusing around on like a 10-20 degree day and a pull from 1st to 4th gear only gets me up to liek 100-110.....
But right now, if I were to do that on this 80 degree day....just a 3rd to 4th pull would be up to like 160...if not more
and I cruise at like 105-115....90 degree days I cruise at like 120-125 lol....these cars are heat machines
Crusing meaning at iat temps..not crusing at 120-125 mph....

i looked it up....every 11 degrees colder it is, air is 1% denser....idk how that would play into a F/I car, but on a N/A car, the diff between 55 degrees and 110 degrees is the difference between a 200hp car and a 210hp car
Yeah, I know how you feel. My car posted some pretty low numbers and like you, it was pretty freakin hot. My motor temp hit 203 degrees on the dyno during our dyno day. Then again, she pulls REALLY hard when driving normally (not as much when it's hot out)and I think my car purposely puts down lower numbers on the dyno so people don't know her true potential.
