Stock and aftermarket cams in the ss/sc

i know this might sound a bit noob, but i already did a less than satisfying search on here and came up with nothing... anyways, i was wondering about the stock cams in the ss/sc and what are some good aftermarket replacements for the stock cams/lifters/valves, things of that nature... thanks

Only cams availble for LSJ are JBP TriFlows. Regrind are possible. There is a company on RLFs that will regrind stock cams to an HKS 272 and 280 spec. Crower will also do regrinds to any spec you want.

I've seen the 272 cams in 2 local cars, so those are proven to work. Both cars also have SuperTech valvetrain setup that rev to 8k+ w/ Neutral Balance shafts. I will be running this same setup but with 280 cams.

Techincally you could use 2.2 cams, however you will lose the ability to use your camshaft position sensor. That sensor is only used for making the car start on first crank. I run mine without this sensor. Slightly annoying but works. If you go that route, you also need to block an oil passage on the exhaust cam.

I believe if you send your stock LSJ cams they charge $300. Very good price IMO. Just be sure they send you the shims and be sure to use them. Crower quoted me at $250 with a two week turn around, not too bad either.

good thing about the regrind,is your cams retain the GM stamp, when the dealer opened up my head, they did not know the difference.22whp great gains for the price, dont know what the gains for the ss/sc guys are though,I dont think as much
