Might sell the 19"s. Opinions?

Kinda like a feeler/opinion thread. I'm debating selling my 19"x8" Axis Mods (complete with basically brand new Nankang NS-II tires, 225/35/19). As many of you know I've had nothing but bad luck with them. First I drove over a nail.....that tire has since been replaced with a brand new one. Then I hit a chunk of road on 66 and bent a wheel pretty badly, which is gonna cost me roughly $500 to replace after the shipping, mounting/balancing, drilling, etc. As much as I LOOOOVE those wheels.....they MAKE the car......I just don't know if I wanna deal with them anymore. I might go back to 18"s. I originally had 18" Enkei WDMs which I later sold......I wasn't satisfied with them.....which is why I got the 19"s. Deep down I wanna keep the 19"s much more than I'd wanna go back to 18"s, but I'm not sure if my pockets are deep enough to keep up with the "uh-oh"s that might come AGAIN in the future if and when I ever get the wheel fixed and put them back on. I paid $2,000 for them new with tires, and I know I won't get anything close to that if I were to sell them, so either way.....keep or sell, its gonna cost me. What's peoples thoughts on this? Keep, sell, etc?

Keep them man; you won't get anywhere near what you payed for them. Plus if you already have 19s and tires to accomidate them; its going to cost you way more to replace everything by going back to 18s.

FYI - Just be more careful when you drive; and use your low beams if you aren't already.

keep them, the way i see it, you got all the "uh-oh's" out of the way now, i dont know if you have room but maybe next time you need tires, try get a little more sidewall on them for a little extra pot hole protection

if you take them off you never going to be anywhere near as happy with you car, and your never going to get near enough $ to make you happy with getting rid of them

I'd love to provide a link, but I'm on my sidekick internet and I can't open multiple pages at once. There's a thread "FINALLY.....pics of my black 19"s on my white 2.4SS" in the wheel/tire section, and an even better photoshoot "New pics/photoshoot of the white 2.4SS on black 19"s in the pics/videos section. The pics in the wheel/tire section are a few months old, but the pics in the pics/videos section are from last month so they shouldn't be too hard to find.

As to everyone else, thanks for the advice. I'll likely keep them, but we'll see.

Good idea, so you don't recommend 19's for daily use

I ran/run Sportlines w/ my 19"s. Not a bad ride at all even with the 35 profile tire.

As for making the 19"s a non-daily driven kinda thing......not happening. Everything on my car is an "all or nothing" kinda deal. My car is a far cry from a show car, and the shows I do attend, I only spectate, not enter. I paid too much money to have wheels that are on the car only on select time periods/events. Just like my overly-obnoxious exhaust that's landed me 5 warnings and 2 tickets, running the 19"s is a risky thing for a daily driver. And not a 20 mile round trip daily driver. My car is an '07......had it since Oct. '06 and racked up 28,500 miles on it thusfar. Putting about 30k a year on it. But, for a 20 year old trying to make the best of what he can do in life with what he has at the moment, I can only enjoy the fruits of my labor at a high risk. The 19"s will go back on. The exhaust will stay. Potholes will be dodged swiftly at all means. Clutches will be pushed in at any sight of a parked state trooper. Such is the life of a interstate 66 daily driven wannabe show car, lol.

Wish me luck. The wheels will hopefully be back on by next month if money permits. And yes, they will be coming off around December (or first warning of snow) and staying off till spring time.

Thanks again for the input.

I have 17"s on it right now. Us 2.4SS's came stock with 17"s, remember? Looks no where near as good IMO (and all my friends or anyone who cares)....in fact, after having 19"s that were literally flush with my fenders and deleted the last little bit of fender gap I had after lowering, I can say I actually hate my 17"s...... and the 17"s cause my car to bottom out everywhere and literally rip paint off the bottom of my sideskirts. Don't care about weight, im not a race car driver. The only thing I will agree with you on is that they are cheaper to replace if needed. My 17"s will serve as my winter wheels.

I'm gonna give it one more shot man. I mean hell, I already put a brand new tire on after I drove over a nail. But before I could even mount that wheel/tire back on, I hit the chunk of asphault, bending a different wheel. Im gonna suck it up, pay to get the new wheel, and try again. If I do sell in the future, i'll let you know.

I was gonna ask $1,200 with the bent wheel. But they are basically brand new. I put them on the tail end of July and they werent even on a month. I paid $2,000 for everything originally, so with the bent wheel (but a brand new never even touched the road tire, plus 3 basically brand new tires) I figured that'd be a decent price.

But like I said, not for sale as of now. I'll let you know if I change my mind.
